"Get off of me you perverted idiot." I try to sound angry, but the corner of my lips twitch upward slightly in amusement and adoration.
He looked down at me, an air of mock innocence surrounding him. "It's not like I meant to do this..."
I try to push him off of me, but his body is too heavy. My eye starts to twitch. "Then get off of me! We are on a roof for Kami's sake, how the hell did you fall on top of me in the first place?!"
"Well you see..." I slap my hand over his mask-covered mouth, not wanting to hear the stupid excuse that was about to spew out of his mouth.
"Just. Get. Off." I emphasize each word, wriggling under him.
"You could have just used the Shunshin to get out from under me... I think you like this..." I can see the the dent in his mask, signaling a smirk. A red tint envelops my face.
"N-no I don't! Just get off of me already Hatake! Hurry up, other ninja up here are starting to stare!" I glare at him as I feel my face heat up further.
"Well... We can continue this somewhere else then if you're so self-conscious about this." I let out an indignant squeak as we appear in some random alley and am about to try and get away when his unclothed lips meet mine. All too soon they are gone and my legs feel weakened.
"Hum..." He looks up then looks back at me with what seems to be disappointment in his eye. I tilt my head questioningly and follow his gaze to see a hawk flying around. Gah! I have to see Hokage-sama!
I look back at him and his mask is already in place. People often assume he's either very ugly or has an Adonis-like face, but it really is neither. He is handsome I'd give them that, but he doesn't have a perfect flawless face. There are scars, though for me that makes him more handsome... Kami I sound like an academy fan-girl!
I give him a loose hug and whisper into his ear, "Later." It is a promise of things to come and he knows it.
Then I make a one handed hand seal and appear in front of the Hokage's door. I learned my lesson the last time I showed up in his room unexpected, a kunai barely missed my face and had nicked my ear.
I breathe out slowly, calming my heartbeat to a near silence before entering. "Lord Hokage." My eyes become cold and calculating, ready to observe even the most minuscule detail.
Instead of just him I find the Shimura and the two council elders as well. The Hokage's face is grave and I know then something will happen. "Shiro Uchiha. The heir of the Uchiha clan, considered a true wielder of the Sharingan, known as the Konoha no Yami. You will be receiving a mission that will cast you out as a missing-nin. Can you accept this?" I grit my teeth, a missing-nin? I will leave behind the ones I love and care for... but if it is a mission... I will still be protecting them, even if they can never know.
My eyes shine with determination to protect my village and loved ones, to be the weapon that the Hokage can wield. "Hai, Lord Hokage."
"Your mission is composed of two parts. You must eliminate the rogue nin Orochimaru and..." My eyes flash dangerously at his name. Him... The one who ruined my Shishou's life. I will eliminate him... I will turn him to ash! I stop my eyes from bleeding into the Sharingan. "And you also will be aiding one of our other operatives in finding information about an organization."
"If I may, Lord Hokage, what is this organization, and who is the operative?" I see a smirk upon the Shimura's face before it fades into a facade of indifference. What does he know that I do not? This does not bode well.
The Hokage lets out a cough and sends a not so subtle glare at the Shimura and this time it is I who hides my smirk, apparently more successful than he. "You will be infiltrating the Akatsuki, and the operative... Is Itachi Uchiha."
The silence is deafening. The cold air goes below freezing. I whisper. "What."
My eyes flash, and in a moment I am holding the Shimura by the throat. "Do you think this is funny you idiot?" I say lowly. He had smugness practically radiating off him, and for what I do not know, but it makes me want to crush his wind pipe.
Aside from that... It would be the perfect way to enter the missing-nin world. Not only that, I have enough dirt on the old croak to where it wouldn't matter if I killed him. "Shiro." Only his voice stops me from going through with my plan.
"Yes, Hokage-sama." I slowly tighten my hold on the Shimura's throat, watching in satisfaction as he slowly turns a bluish-purple from the lack of air.
"Release." I nod with no hesitation and drop the man unceremoniously to the wooden floor.
"I accept my mission. How do you expect me to become a missing-nin though? I have no connection to anyone except few who I will not kill no matter what. I could always exterminate a clan I suppose." I silently mock the Shimura, for I know the Hokage would never truly go along with the massacre of an entire clan, even if their plans were most unpleasant such as the Uchiha clan.
"We have a plan. The civilian council has been planning themselves a way to overthrow Lord Hokage, and they are slowly leeching power from the ninja side of the council. Your mission will be to exterminate them, which in turn will give you a reason for becoming a missing-nin. No one will know of this except for the ones in this room and the operative." I notice the Shimura not using my brother's name.
"This does not seem like a full proof plan. Not everyone loves the civilian council, but a lot of people respect me... What would happen if I just ran out of the village at some point in time then you sent some well known ninja after me, say, Asuma Sarutobi, Gai Maito, or even Kakashi Hatake. I would injure them and continue on my way to the objective... What do you think, Lord Hokage?" I ignore the other three, they have no business in this affair.
"I agree, but if you can as an added... favor, dispose of the civilian council before you leave. Dismissed." I bow slightly.
"Hai. Hokage-sama. One other thing you may wish to know..." I glare directly at the Shimura as I say this. "The Roots of the Great Tree still live."
Then I am jumping out of the window and running across the rooftops. My mind is elsewhere, I will have to abandon everyone I know for this... I then run into someone and tumble to the flat rooftop.
"Urgh..." I shake my head and see brown hair tied into a short ponytail.
"Oh, sorry Iruka!" I jump up and rub my head sheepishly.
"It's alright, Shiro-kun. Just be more careful, alright?" I smile at him and nod with a mock salute.
"Hai, Sensei!" I almost missed the calculating look that ran across his face. It disappeared at the speed of a seasoned Anbu. Who are you really, Iruka...? After he turns around and jumps off to wherever, I glare at his retreating figure in contemplation. He could have avoided me by all means, but he didn't... It seems a lot of things are amiss tonight.
I want to cry... but I can't. My life keeps chipping away piece by piece. All I can do now is glue them back together, but everyone knows it's easier to break after it's repaired.
I head towards Hatake's house, wanting some form of comfort for as long as I can, because I have a feeling I won't be around much longer.
