Ch 14-A Mission Gone Horribly Wrong

"Alright gaki! It's time to go on your first mission as a Chunin!" I grin excitedly, forcing back a small yawn.

"Hai, Shishou! What kind of mission?" I ask as we walk to the room in the Hokage tower where we get our missions. Shishou gives me a feral grin as we finally arrive and walk straight to the Hokage himself.

"Hello Anko-chan, Shiro-kun. Here for a mission, any preference?" He asks kindly and I smile, my eyes closing because of it.

"Ah, yeah Lord Hokage! Got a B or A rank?" My eyes widen slightly, already B or A? I thought A rank missions were only for Jounin...

"Anko-chan... A ranks can only be taken by Jounin. And B ranks are only available after eight C rank missions are completed for Chunin." I groan silently... Why not B ranks... I don't want to escort some stupid overconfident client who thinks he or she is this world's gift from Kami...

"Please Hokage-sama! Just one B rank, then I'll do the eight C ranks! It's my first mission!" I clap my hands together, pleading to my Hokage. I inwardly grin as he sighs, alright!

"Fine... Just be careful. Here you go." He hands a scroll to me and I shout out with glee before hightailing it out of the tower and straight to the gates, Shishou right on my tail.

"Calm down kid, we haven't even read the mission!" She barks at me, and I nod furiously in return. I open the scroll and start reading it.

"People have been disappearing in the town of Tamagayo and the mayor is requesting an investigation to find out where the missing people are and recover them... Even if they are dead." This is a rather... dark mission. I school my features and close the scroll. I cannot fail my first mission as a Chunin.

"Tamagayo is about a half week's walk from here... It should take us a day if we go faster... Which we can cause there's no civilian with us!"

"Ohayo, ninja-saaan! I *huff* I am sorry I'm late, but you left so quickly I couldn't catch up to you! I am Nami Toko. May I have the pleasure of knowing my escorts names? I'm supposed to lead you to Tamagayo."

"I stand corrected gaki... It will take us three and a half days to arrive in Tamagayo at the least." Urk... Atleast the escort isn't someone who thinks they can knock around their escorts...

"I am Shiro Uchiha. This is my Shishou, Anko Mitarashi." I say blankly.

"Oh, very nice to meet you both, so are you ready to go?" As Shishou was about to say something I beat her to it.

"Yes, Nami-san." Shishou glared at me, but I waved her off. I had packed for the both of us in two storage scrolls enough for atleast a month, so we should be fine.

"Then let's go!" And we were off. The next three days were some of the most boring I'd ever experienced in my short life. After I'd became Chunin, Shishou had gotten me a new set of chakra weights, four to be precise, two for my upper arms and two to wrap around my thighs. The arms went to three hundred each, where as the legs went to seven hundred each. I had trained with them for three months before we even thought of a mission so they would be at their max and I could still move.

"Alright, we are here!" The town looked bleak, like a gray cloud was over it. Everyone was either hidden in their house, or they would sneak around outside, trying to look inconspicuous. Poor villagers...

We made our way to a large building and walked inside. Inside the room we walked into was quite small, more like it belonged in a smaller building or a house. There were five chairs seated around a table in front of a desk with an office sort of chair behind it.

A man I assumed was the mayor was sitting in one of the chairs surrounding the table and motioned us to sit down... So we did.

"Welcome back son, I trust these ninja protected you well?" Son. . . They look nothing alike! Their facial features, hair color, frame, everything was opposite! Even the clothes they wore clashed.
