I woke up this morning thinking it was time to train more. My brother is already so much stronger than me, but he's a Uchiha so it makes sense. What doesn't make sense though is that he is only an hour older than me yet he's already made Jounin while I've just graduated from the academy.

It isn't fair, why is everyone so much stronger than me?! I need that power to avenge my family, to kill Itachi! That is the one thing my brother lacks, he does not want to avenge our family even though it should be done for them, they deserve some sort of peace after what he did.

I stifled a yawn as I rolled off of my bed, stood up, and walked away to get ready for the day. Halfway through my shower, I heard something. It was minuscule, barely noticeable, but it was there nonetheless.

Someone else was in this house... And it wasn't Shiro-nii.

I silently turned off the shower and quickly dressed before running swiftly up the walls to crawl along the ceiling. The steps were getting closer. I made sure my chakra was suppressed so they didn't immediately know where I was. I am prepared for any...

"Hello boy." My eyes widen and I flip down to the floor at the sound of the voice right behind me. I hold my kunai bared in a reverse grip as I glare at the strange man.

"Who. Are. You? And... What are you doing in the Uchiha compound?!" The man had a strange X-like scar on his chin, and was looking down at me with his only visible eye narrowed slightly, a perpetual frown plastered on his face.

"I am Danzo. And I am here to offer you something in return for your loyalty..." He paused, making me tense in anticipation for his next words. "Strength. Power. In return you will swear loyalty to only me. You may join my ROOT Anbu and train with them. Is that acceptable?"

I thought it over. I would be receiving power. I needed power to kill Itachi. This man was offering it freely with practically no price except loyalty... But Itachi comes first. If my loyalty to Danzo affects my ambition, I will go for my ambition instead and leave him. All I did was nod with fake disinterest showing on my face.

I don't know if he thought I was ignorant or something, but I saw a smirk place itself upon his face before quickly leaving in the blink of an eye. Danzo... I'll be watching you like a crow. "Good. Then... Let's go."

"Hai." I will have my revenge one day, and this man will help me.

I took in my surroundings as we walked through the village, noting that we were going to the south side of the village, the red light district in a way. Soon enough we stopped in front of an alley and he walked further into it. Where was he leading me? There was nothing in this alley save for a few trash cans and bags, and at the other end a brick wall was blocking the path.

I shrugged unnoticeably and walked in after him. We stopped next to one of the trash bags and a door I hadn't even noticed was there. It was painted exactly like the wall and there was no knob so it was really hard to see if you weren't right next to it and paying attention to your surroundings, basically looking for it.

He pushed the door inward and walked through it, going down winding steps into the ground. The stairs winded down in a spiraling fashion, the cobblestone walls had torches lining them until we reached the bottom. Immediately, a group of cloaked people with strange Anbu masks appeared before us. The Anbu masks weren't painted with animal-like features as I had seen before, no, these looked like they were inhuman, like something out of a nightmare, a monster so to say. One had multiple dots for eyes and a fanged mouth bared painted on it, a symbol I could faintly translate to Root in the center of the forehead on the mask.

"Lord Danzo, welcome." The tone in which he said it made even me have the slight chills. It was so... dull, lifeless... emotionless. I was starting to have second thoughts about this, but it was too late.

A mask was shoved onto my face and I could feel something digging into my face like a worm might do to an apple before everything went black. Even then... I could still hear his annoying chuckle in my mind.
