We all pile into Zahaire's metal vessel, I mean car and head towards the forest.
Zahaire parks his car on the side of the road and we exit it.
I see a huge green plot of land and huge rough and feathery poles? In that moment a memory comes to me it's not mine however...it is from the human I possessed. So this is a forest.
A fresher scent of this Earth finds its way to my nose along with flowers and fallen leaves. I find it to be quite comforting compared to the disgusting air that is everywhere else.
"Audree, you know what we should do?" Zahaire asked as we walk through the forest.
Audree only hums in response so Zahaire continues his thoughts.
"We should totally come hiking up here. One day. "
"Yes yes, when we save this world from the World Eater Zahaire, you guys can come hiking here all the time." I stop speaking and look at Zahaire. "But until we save the world, please my friend, can we stay focused and as silent as possible?"
"You're right. I- we, we should stay silent.." Zahaire replies in a whisper. "From here on out, I'm a stealthy ninja!"
The boy does random hand signals and then soon after trips on a tree root in front of him.
I let out a sigh.
Are they really up for this?
I shouldn't have dragged them along. But I fear I'm not willing to stop now until I can see her. Iphegenia, I'm coming.
Audree chuckles but I'm not sure if she's laughing at me or her over cautious friend.
We continue our walk through the forest and a ringing sound comes from Zahaire's pocket.
"Your pocket is ringing." Audree says as she shakes her head. "Total ninja of the year."
Zahaire fumbles for his phone and looks at the screen.
"An unknown number?" He slides his finger on his screen and the ringing stops.
As we continue deeper into the forest, I see a couple of people hiking along a trail that's marked out.
It seems people are still casually going through this forest. Maybe we don't have to be too stealthy.
"I forgot to mention, this thing we're looking for may have a shield around it concealing its location from anyone."
"Great, so we are looking for wonder woman's Invisible Jet." Audree says, throwing her arms up in defeat.
A couple of hours pass and Zahaire and Audree both let out a tired sigh.
"Maybe the ships left already." Audree states as she chucks down a water bottle.
"That is poss-." I begin.
I'm interrupted by Zahaire pointing towards something to our right side.
"These animals aren't acting normal...that rabbit is sniffing the air, but it seems confused, and that baby bird is pecking at nothing."
