|Zahaire|

Once I make it back to my dorm I take a shower.

I lie in bed but I can't sleep.

I thought about gaming with Chris, but he's asleep on his bed.

I flop down onto my bed and pull out my phone.

The first thing I see is a message from Delilah that I read hours ago.

"Shit." I mutter to myself.

I quickly type a message explaining that I've been busy all day.

Don't expect a reply because it's like what, almost twelve in th-

My phone dings and I almost drop it.

New Yrk City Girl it's all good lmao. Was busy too

New Yrk City Girl how was your day handsome?

Stressful..could've been better. Could be a lot better if I could see you soon 🤧

New Yrk City Girl wanna hang out rn? we could grab some snacks from the liquor store and go to a park or something

I think about Delilah's offer before I roll out of bed.

It'd be a nice distraction and maybe I'll tire myself out by the time we get back.

I'll meet you at your dorm in five

New Yrk City Girl Sounds good

I pull on the Plain White T's shirt Delilah gave me a while back and some matching jeans.

It's not long before I'm making my way to the girls' dormitories. Since it's late, the entrance to the dorm is locked unless you have a key to enter it so I wait for Delilah outside the doors.

Delilah comes outside shortly after.

"Hey." I state as I stuff my hands into my Jean pockets.

Delilah flashes me a smile, her dimple popping out.

"Hey Zahaire! Love the shirt, who got it for you?"

My eyes scan her body and I feel my cheeks beginning to heat up.

She has on some grey sweats and a matching sweater, her black curly hair is up in a messy bun with a few strands hanging out in the front, and she has on some slides to match.

"Hm, I don't know. I think it was some beautiful girl I met at a party." I smirk.

"Ready to hit the store?" Delilah asked as she shoves my shoulder with her hand playfully.

"Yeah let's go."

I hold out my hand and Delilah hesitates before grabbing it with a smile.

We walk hand in hand to my car and I pull out of the parking lot and onto the streets.

Love Galore by Sza plays and Delilah sings the chorus of it. Her singing may be pitchy and out of tune, but it still makes me smile.

After shopping for snacks and sodas, Delilah and I park at the nearby park.

We sit on two separate swings and eat our food talking about our days and classes.

Of course I leave out the whole Braylon and alien parts but I tell her everything else.

I glance at Delilah as she swings slowly on the swing.

The metal creeks slowly each time she goes back and forth.

"I bet I could go higher than you!" I state as I start to swing myself.

"Nah," she laughs. "I'm the swinging champ!"

We both start swinging as high as we can.

Me and Delilah move in rhythm until we are swinging in opposite directions.

"I remember-," I state as I pass by her.

I keep talking and stopping each time we pass each other by.

"As a kid I would-, jump off the swing-, I think I'm gonna- try right now!"

Once I'm high enough I jump out of the swing seat.

My footing isn't right and I end up falling onto the wood chips.

"Zahaire!" Delilah yells.

I can tell she's trying to hold in a laugh. She's beside me now, sitting herself up on her knees. She places her hands on my shoulders and helps me sit up.

"You good dude?"

Delilah rubs the wood chips out of my hair and then she grabs my chin and turns my face examining it.

"Anything broken?"

I let out a low chuckle before nodding my head.

"Yeah," I put on my tough boy act and voice. "I'm fine."

Son of a BITCH!! This stings...

Delilah still looks at me with a worried expression on her face. Her hazel brown eyes continue to examine me.

She's looking me in the eyes now and I smile at her.

"I promise." I reassure her.

"I'm glad."

Delilah's lips slowly inch towards mine and mine make my way to hers.

I can smell her Shea Butter lip gloss as she draws closer to me.

Her eyes are closed now and her lips are parted. My stupid heart forgets how to work and it skips a beat.

Our lips meet each other, drawn together like two opposite ends of a magnet.

Delilah is the one to pull away from the kiss.

"S-sorry...I-uh- I hope you don't mind that I-,"

I cut her off by pecking her lips softly.

"I don't." I shake my head softly.

After sharing a couple of more kisses Delilah and I make our way back to the dorms.
