"He was right behind you! I pingged like several fucking times!" Chris yells.
I look up from my textbook with a groan and Chris removes one side of his headset.
"Zahaire please get on with me, I cannot take anymore of these dumb ass randoms!"
"Nah man, shut up I'm trying to study for a test I have tomorrow."
I bury my head back into my zoology textbook.
"You've been studying for that test since this morning. Come on you animal nerd, take a break."
Picking up my phone, I check the time and heave out a sigh.
It's already five? Fuck. Where did my day go?
"Yeah! And next time I see another turtle with a straw jammed down his nose I'll say: sorry buddy, I probably could have saved you but I was too busy playing Apex with my overbearing roommate Chris."
I close my book and shoot him a glare.
Chris scoffs and puts back on his headphone and ques up for another match.
I should probably go get Audree and check on Braylon.
"Hey bro, I'm heading out. Don't wait up for me tonight."
"I don't wait up for people who can't play video games with me anyway." Chris jokes as he turns his attention back to the game.
On my way out the door I hear him yelling at another random. I shake my head and proceed down the dorm hallway.
As I make my way to the student parking lot I text Audree to meet me here.
I get in my car and start it up. I turn on the radio and connect my phone to the bluetooth. I decided to play Baguetti by Smino since it's been stuck in my head all day.
"I need a minute to meditate. Gimme a second babe.." I sing along. "Full of regret I been stressing on everything. So imma need everything, anything pocket change."
It's not long before Audree is tapping on my car window signaling me to unlock the door. Audree hops in and turns down my music.
"Zaharia! I missed you." She says. "I know we just saw each other, but it's something about getting attacked by creepy aliens that makes you realize how much you'd miss a person if they were gone, you know?"
"Yea, I guess I missed you too."
I playfully roll my eyes.
"Ugh whatever." Audree folds her arms and slouches in her seat. "What did you want anyways?"
"I thought we'd go check on Braylon. He told me he'd have some improvements on that flashlight I found on that ship."
"Ooh exciting! I've actually been getting the hang of this bracelet thingy." She waves her wrist in the air and it clinks with all the other accessories she has on her arm.
