|Zahaire|

We enter through a side entrance Braylon made so that we can get in without having to deal with any security.

We walk up to the pod and I press a button that opens the entrance hatch.

Once we enter, Braylon is mumbling something to himself as he fixes something up.

"Braylon! Your two favorite humans have arrived!" Audree states as we walk deeper into the ship.

Braylon lets out a chuckle as he shakes his head.

"My first favorite human would be this guy who I found dead in his apartment because without him-," Braylon gestures to his body. "I wouldn't be here."

I raise an eyebrow at him.

"Oh-kay." Audree states.

"But you and Zahaire are both my number twos." He winks with a coy smile.

"Have you finished the flashlight?" I asked.

Braylon nods his head.

"I just finished it right now."

Braylon hands me the flashlight and I turn it on pointing it away from him.

I press the trigger up slightly and its light covers a tiny section that's in front of me. When I push the trigger up to the middle it covers more of the area in front of me.

The farther I push the trigger up, the more the light spreads out around the area. Since the lens on the light is made out of the UV light that messes up aliens skin and burns it away, this'll help us in combat.

"If you press the back button, a handle with a trigger will come out of the bottom and you can shoot beams of light out of the flashlight."

Audree gasps.

"That seems way cooler than some bracelet..."

I smack my lips.

"You can be like Wanda from the Avengers!" I geek.

Audree sighs and places a hand on her chin thinking a bit.

"Yeah I guess that's true."

"Our tech typically adapts with its users. Now, I'm not sure if it applies to humans but I've known some users of the telekinesis bracelet that had evolved its abilities due to it fully resonating with the nervous system."

After going over the gun with Braylon, I try it out myself.

I hold it in my hands and inspect it more closely. It's got some weight to it, good enough to bop someone into a coma if I needed to.

I press the button Braylon mentioned and I hear a series of clicks and snaps until a handle shoots out of the bottom of the shaft.

I walk to the entrance of the pod and aim the gun at a pile of car scraps and pull the trigger. A beam of black light shoots out of it and disappears with a thud upon contact.

"It's not a powerful laser so it's quite harmless against anything other than my kin."

"And you put this together with whatever you found here!?" I ask shocked.

"Well some, most of it came from things I found around the pod..."

"Where the hell did you pick up a skill like that!?" Audree says.

"I guess you would call it a...gulag? I foolishly got my sister and I wrapped up in a labor camp facading as an orphanage. I was so desperate for help that I had turned a blind eye to the red flags until it was too late...they started doing things to Nia and I that changed our bodies. 'Training us to become heros' they said."

Audree and I both take a moment in silence. I really don't know what to say.

"No need to feel bad, I've moved on from the grief and just want to get my sister back. Make things right." He gives us a half smile.

Braylon helps me and Audree get more acquainted with our gadgets. Once it becomes dawn, Audree and I decide to call it a day and head back to the car.
