Chapter 17🌴

"W-Why are you doing this, Mr. Kim?" Kim Taehyung looked at Kim Seokjin in disbelief who was having a soft smile on his face.

"Seriously I don't know. I-I just know that I had to do this for you." Jin whispered the last words silently. But thankfully Taehyung heard it and wiped his tears off from his swollen eyes.

Taehyung couldn't believe that the great Kim Seokjin would do something nice for him. His heart skipped a bit when he saw himself through the video where a guy was supplying free food to the places where his rice paddy was supposed to be delivered.

Taehyung felt emotional by seeing those homeless people enjoying their food and eating with a happy face. He licked his dry lips and once again played the video of some guys supplying food for the people.

After seeing Taehyung's breakdown Jin couldn't take it anymore. He dialed his friend and informed him to deliver free food to all over the city and outskirts of South Korea. He knew that Taehyung would give to people in Daegu. But Seokjin decided to provide food all over the country side and outskirts of South Korea.

Taehyung widened his eyes when he saw a incoming call coming to Jin's phone.

"Now wipe those tears. You look even more ugly with all crying and sniffling." Taehyung chuckled lightly and wiped his precious tears with his tshirt.

Jin reached for his phone from Taehyung and walked some distance to have some private talk with his friend.

"Everything is settled, Jin. I have taken photos too if you have some doubts." His best friend Park Jimin informed Jin on the other line. With the help of his Uncle Jungkook, Jimin and he appointed men all over the South Korea to take this order.

"I trust you, Minnie. Thank you once again. And I am coming back tomorrow, schedule a meeting with project managers."

Jin could hear his friend gasping by hearing his friend's words.

"You got the land already?"

"No and I am never going to do that. Will see you tomorrow, be there in my office at eleven o'clock sharp." With that Jin cut the call and turned back to see Taehyung fiddling his fingers nervously. To be honest, he didn't know how to thank the businessman.

He knew that Kim Seokjin was not someone who would care about others. But the Jin infront of him was not the same Jin he came across when he met him for the first time outside his farm house.

But he also couldn't believe that Kim Seokjin was going back to the city. Something inside him felt a little pang by those words.

"Y-You are going back?"

Kim Seokjin smiled by the sweet stuttering from the farmer. It was a surprise for Jin too but he decided to go back to the city. Kim Taehyung saw Seokjin nodding to his question.

"But w-what about the challenge?" Kim Taehyung deep inside his heart wished for the other to stay. Though they always found themselves fighting and teasing each other, they kind of got attached to each other. But neither of them were going to confess about it.

"You win, farmer." Jin shrugged his shoulders like it was nothing.

For the first time in his life, Jin had accepted his defeat to someone. He would never do that but here he was accepting the farmer's win over him.

"You are accepting to lose, Mr. Kim? B-But you hate to lose. And still the challenge is not over." Kim Taehyung tried his best to say something and convince the other to stay here for another three more months. He knew that if Jin had stayed here, Taehyung would lose.

But he kind of loved the other's company and having small fights and arguments. He was having a good life peacefully but after Kim Seokjin's arrival, Taehyung found his life even more interesting.

He loved seeing the famous entrepreneur working in his farm and learning about agriculture. It was an unusual sight but Jin did his best in everything.

"Sometimes it's better to lose and do the right thing than to win and do the wrong thing, farmer." Kim Taehyung furrowed his eyebrows in confusion by listening to Kim Seokjin's words.

"Sometimes you win and sometimes you learn, farmer.

After staying here for more than three months I learned that this farm means everything to you. And you can live without jobs but not without food to fulfill your stomachs. What you are doing here is better than what I am doing in the city, farmer."

Taehyung felt himself blushing over the first compliment that he had ever received from the handsome man before him.

"And I am proud to have my defeat with you. You will be the one and only man whom I had lost to, farmer and I am proud of it. Have a great life, farmer." Jin gave a genuine smile and reached his hands for a final handshake with Kim Taehyung.

Taehyung couldn't process what was happening. But he was sure that his farming land was going to be his forever and Kim Seokjin had given up his challenge.

With a heavy heart Taehyung and Seokjin shook their hands. Their both faces flushed red when their hands touched for the first time. The first touch between them felt so lovely and tender. Jin's crooked fingers fit exactly in between Taehyung's long fingers.

"Good bye, farmer." Jin one last time gripped firmly on Taehyung's hands before drawing back his hands. Taehyung felt heart broken by seeing those crooked fingers leaving him. He wished to grab it and treasure it with himself. But they both knew that they had responsibilities.

And they were traveling on different path with different dreams. Both were never going to give up on their dreams any day.

Jin bit his lips tightly and turned back to walk back to the farm house. Kim Taehyung was not in place to stop the other. He looked around the farm field that was going to save lives of innumerable people.

Kim Seokjin walked to the hen house and chuckled when he saw the birds running towards him and circling his legs. He bent down and picked the baby chick that had grown very well.

"Hey baby, I am going back to my place. I hope you stay good to your mother and don't come out. I will not be here to shoo the crows away but make sure to do the roaring sound that I taught you." Jin gently kissed on the chicken that he took care first as his task. After those tasks, he took care of many eggs and they hatched perfectly all fine.

Jin soon wiped his tears before falling down on his cheeks. He was a strong man but who knew that a baby chicken held him in it's pinky finger. He was so weak to the birds that he took care of.

"Awww you pooped on me. That's so sweet of you. You will miss me too, won't you?" Jin giggled and softly put the chicken down before washing his hands.

Kim Seokjin grabbed his car keys from the farm house and looked around the place where he mostly spent his nights. He didn't want to feel emotional, so he quickly left the farm house before changing his own attire that he wore on the first day.

Kim Seokjin walked to his car and locked inside after getting in. He left a heavy sigh when he looked through his rear view mirror. He couldn't find the farmer anywhere near. It was the best that they didn't see each other.

With a heavy heart, Jin started his engine and took his depart from the place that held so many sweet memories.
