Sirius’ birthday, to be honest I didn’t really know what to get him. I thought I had bought him a really nice gift until Louis jumped on my dresser knocking it off, usually in a situation like this I’d use a spell to fix it but as it was a very expensive, very complex magical object I couldn’t use magic to fix it in such a short time.
As I was doing homework, I was lost in thought, still trying to come up with a good present, I began to trace a pattern into the table; star, heart, swirl repeating it with one hand while the other worked mindlessly on an essay. Suddenly I felt the sofa dip beside me and someone's legs were resting on my lap.
“What you thinking about,”
“How I don’t have a present for Sirius’ birthday and it’s in a few days,”
“I can take you to the little rickety prank shop we always go to, I’m sure Sirius would happy with anything from there,”
“This Hogsmeade weekend,”
“No the one after his birthday,”
“Fair enough stupid question, would you be okay getting up early though because I’ve made plans with a lot of people and I really don’t want to cancel,”
“As long as you treat me to a butterbeer at the end of it,”
“You’ve got yourself a deal,” I said, giving the boy my hand to shake, he kissed it, I immidiatly turned my head away so that he couldn't see me blush.
The Hogsmeade weekend
If stealing Lily Evans clothes ever became a sport I’d win, at this point we had a shared wardrobe which didn’t make much sense considering I was much larger than the girl. She had this brand of shoes called doctor Martens, they were very comfortable for a long walk especially if you matched them with a pair of fluffy muggle socks. The ones I was wearing had little planets on them.“How much of that outfit belongs to me?” the girl asked half-asleep as I was getting ready early
“The majority, muggle clothes are so amazing. If blood supremacists wore a pair of your fluffy pink socks they might just change their minds on blood status,”
“Funny, you’d think it’s because no matter the blood everyone deserves basic human rights,”
“Except rapists,”
“Yeah, except rapists,”I threw one of Lilies' tote bags over my shoulder, the fabric was odd but the patterned design on the front was really cool. I waved goodbye to Lily, who covered her face with her pillow, at the light I was bringing into her room with the open door. There were a few first years sitting around the fire below, and James Potter telling them a story.
“Okay, so Remus was in the broom closet, Peter was still in the kitchen and Sirius was hidden behind the tapestry with me, the fabric itching my nose” The kids were all intently listening, nodding along. “The bomb was about to go off, Slime about to cover anyone not hidden in the hallway and that’s when all three Black sisters strutted down the hall, and I sneezed,” James said, his smirk slowly covering his face.
