I slipped on a pair of pajamas, which meant a pair of random shorts and a top that hid my scars. James stole the largest pair of shorts I own which lucky for him were very stretchy. I waved my hand changing my bedsheets.

I crawled under the covers, James slipped beside me. I rested my head on his chest as he kissed the crown of my head. He played with my hair until, I fell asleep.

I didn't have a nightmare that night.

-

James was still asleep when I got up to let an owl in, I fed the tired bird treats taking the letter from its leg, the string scratched my finger tips.

Dear Iris,

Your husband Evan Rosier...

The letter reminded me, but Rosie and I's relationship was platonic as romantic as our actions seemed.

Wanted me to inform you that he is in St . Mungo's hospice despite better judgment. I'm assuming he asked for you to be notified for you to visit him, but I understand that you may be busy.

For fuck's sake,

Tom Marvollo Riddle

Lord Voldemort,

I looked back to James. I wrote him a note, and attached it to his forehead so he couldn't miss it. I knew I needed to ask for permission from Dumbledore to leave Hogwarts but I didn't.

-

Rosie was asleep when I found him, his face was covered in scratches and bruises. I reached out, pushing his hair out of his face, before flicking his forehead to wake him up. He scoffed, opening his eyes. "Iris," he grumbled, reaching out for my hand.

"What the fuck did you do," I asked sitting on the edge of the bed.
"I'm clumsy,"
"I'm leaving," I said hitting his arm
"Well the hospital thinks I was having a duel and then I fell down the stairs, but between you and me," he paused as if waiting for someone to pop out, "V-man thought I was being soft, when I was- well it's better you don't know," he explained, I sighed rubbing my face.
"You seem-,"
"Tired, yeah I had to get up early to see you," I interrupted, he just nodded.

"I know why you're really here," he said Suddenly as I stood up, pouring him a glass of water.
"Why is that?"
"You missed me," he said with a smirk. I poured the glass on his head.
"You're so cruel,"
"Stop being a baby," I hovered my hand above him drying his clothes.
"Your getting better at that," I smiled nodding. "Is my brother okay," I nodded again.
"Though he hasn't got a detention yet," I joked, which brightened his. mood. We sat in silence together, a brief moment of peace.

"You should get going, or you'll miss Potter," Rosie said suddenly.
"How-,"
"I'm happy for you, but you have to remember he is a weakness to you now, you have to be prepared to leave him, anyone to protect them," I tensed, pressing my lips together. My throat felt dry, the silence wasn't uncomfortable, just painfully true.

"Thank you, Rosie. Stay safe or I'll kill you,"
"Might be a bit late,"
"Not funny,"
"A bit funny," I wanted to say something painfully sentimental but saying it felt like I was preparing my last words so I just waved and apperated.

-

I got back to my dorm and at first glance it looked like James was asleep, but his breathing was off and his eyelids were fluttering. I sat beside the boy slipping of my shoes and lying my head on his chest before I started playing with his curls. His arms wrapped around my waist as he began to kiss my neck.

"I'm tired, James,"
"You would be," he straightened himself, pulling me closer. Simply resting his lips on my neck, his warm breath fanned my shoulder.
