Chapter Twenty-Eight: Returned

♪ why should I play this game of pretend? ♪

It's Thursday. One day before Christmas, and also the day my brother comes home from college. In the morning I cooked myself breakfast as an attempt to clear my mind. Next I put my headphones in and listened to some music while lying down in my bed. A buzz came from my phone and I saw that Tommy was live, obviously I had to watch some of it and mess around with him a bit.

"Thank you for the 15 dollar dono. I will not be answering that question." Tommy read out and didn't realize it was me.

"Thanks for the 30 dollars." He said while focusing on Minecraft. Once again I went unnoticed by Tommy, but this time not by his chat.

"What is my chat going on about?" Tommy mumbled as I sent him another donation.

"Thank you for another $30 Aut- wait a minute, AUTUMN!!!" Tommy finally realized and I was laughing so hard from where I was watching the stream. Tommy put two and two together, "Ohhh so you're the one who sent the crab rave, I forgot that was a thing you did in other people's chats. Sorry for not noticing it was you the first few times, I really need to pay more attention to my donations."

"Autumn stop sending me all of your money!" Tommy whined and I just kept sending more. Tommy gritted his teeth, "Aut if you send me one more dollar I swear-"

"AUTUMN." He yelled and I smirked while watching the screen. "I'm literally going to send this all back to you and you know it." Tommy said and I frowned. My mom yelled from downstairs, "You're brother is home! Come down this instant!"

"Wait no whyyyy?" Tommy protested and I sent my last donation.

Sorry, my brother is home and my mom is calling me downstairs. Have a good stream and I'll get back to you soon!

I shut off my phone and sighed, "I wish I could be streaming right now." "Autumn come down-" "I'm coming mom!" I bolted down the stairs before my mother could even finish her sentence. As I walked down, a familiar face greeted me at the doorstep. "Welcome back Adrien." I smirked and he quickly pulled me into a hug, "Good to see you lil sis."

"So Adrien how is college going?" My father asked as we all were seated around the dinner table. My brother twirled his food, "It's pretty good, I ended up getting a new roommate recently cause my original one transferred but I didn't like him anyways. Also I'm close to the top in almost all of my classes, but there's this one guy named Derek who always beats me out for everything." "Hmm well I've seen your grades and they are looking fantastic! If only your sister could be that way." My mom smiled and I glared at her from across the table, yet she and my father's attention was all on my brother.

"Oh and also." Adrien added, "I've made a lot of friends and a pretty cool reputation because of having a big twitch streamer as my sister." I choked on my food, "What?" "Yeah, you seem to have a few fans at my school and almost like everyone knows about you there, so it's a flex that I'm your brother." He exclaimed and my parents both turned towards me. They both know that I have a good following and that I stream, but they never really knew or cared about the actual amount. "But Autumn's not that famous." My dad intervened and Adrien disagreed, "Mmm no she is, I've seen some of her streams myself and it surprised me how well she has handles everything. I also almost always see her streaming with that Tom- ow!" Before he could finish I kicked him under the table. We'll talk about this after dinner, I mouthed to Adrien and he gave me a confused nod. "The campus layout is sort of confusing..." He changed the subject and I relaxed into my chair.

Adrien's being a lot nicer now than before when he first left for college, I thought to myself. Our whole family finished dinner and I was left behind to do the dishes. "So what was that about at dinner?" Adrien came over and asked. I retorted with another question, "You've seen my streams?" "Yeah, but like not many. The only full stream I've ever seen of yours was the MCC one, I didn't even know that you were streaming until one day I saw someone in my class watching you and I was like, 'Woah that's my little sister!'" He told me and I chuckled, "I have fans at your college." "You sure do." Adrien nodded, "I think you have them like everywhere." "That's pretty cool." I grinned and Adrien asked, "What about that Tommy guy that you always stream with? Is there anything going on?" "Shh keep your voice down." I explained, "Nothing is going on between Tommy and I, it's just that we're best friends. But if mom found out I was friends with a guy she'd freak out. Remember the last guy I was friends with and hung out with? I got the sex ed talk almost every day." "Oh yeah I do remember that, it was pretty funny." Adrien reminisced. I rolled my eyes, "Anyways, keep a low voice about my twitch and YouTube because Mom and Dad really don't know much about it, and I'd like to keep it that way. I only just got mom to stop watching my streams and since then my channel hit a huge growth spurt." "I'll keep quiet under one condition." Adrien had a glimmer in his eyes and I sighed, "What's the condition." "That you come with me to visit my college for a day." He smirked and I shrugged, "What's the worst that could happen."
