♪ you come over unannounced ♪

Today is my last full day in North Carolina. Tomorrow morning I leave and fly back home with Nat. Instead of streaming or playing Minecraft, I will be spending the day getting in as many activities with my two best friends. "Wakey wakey." I chimed into their rooms. Frey sat up surprised, "Wait you're the first one up today?" "Yep, I set an alarm so we can get up bright and early and spend the day together." I said proudly. Nat peeked out of her room, "Good job, that saves us an extra two hours of trying to wake you up in the morning." "Don't get used to it." I winked and ran downstairs to grab breakfast from Frey's pantry.

"Frey, Autumn finished off the milk." Nat complained as I triumphantly munched on my Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Frey walked in and shrugged, "I don't know what you want me to do about it, I'll probably get groceries after you all leave, so for now just have it without milk." "Okay fine." Nat ate her cereal by hand.

"So today." Frey began, "I was thinking we could go ice skating first." "I've never gone ice skating." I admitted and Frey reassured me, "You'll pick up on it quickly." Nat spoke, "Ice skating sounds fun, I used to go a lot." "Great, well let's get going before more people start showing up." Frey grinned and we left her house.

Once we arrived at the ice skating place, the three of us borrowed skates and put them on our feet. I adjusted my mask to fit my face correctly and noticed the weather today, "It's colder than I thought." I rubbed my hands together, Nat added, "I mean it's probably colder in New York but it's still pretty cold here." Frey fastened her skate laces and made her way over to the rink. I waddled behind and Nat gave me support. As soon as I reached the ice I nearly tripped, but gripped onto the edges of the rank and Nat's arm. "I swear Autumn." Nat glared at me, "If you fall you better not pull me down with you." "I'd never." I smirked.

Meanwhile Frey was skating around in circles, waiting for me to catch onto the whole ice skating thing. "Autumn don't hold your arms out, if you fall just let it happen, don't fracture your wrist or something." Frey critiqued and I let my arms fall to my side, "Got it." Eventually I was able to let go of the side and moved slowly across the ice. "Yeah you got it!" Cheered Nat and I sped up a little more, "Hey this is easier than I- FUCK!" I lost my balance and braced myself for the fall.

"Autumn? Autumn! You okay?" Frey was immediately at my side as I pulled myself off the ground, "Perfectly fine." I gritted my teeth and brushed off my clothes. "You good Aut?" Nat checked up on me and I nodded, "Never better."

Luckily I didn't fall anymore throughout ice skating, but we all got tired and hungry. "Hot chocolate sounds so good right now." I said and Frey agreed. "Lunch time, lunch time, lunch time!" Nat's voice rang as we put our ice skates back and exited the ice skating rink. Frey asked, "What sounds better, burgers or Italian?" "Burgers." I answered and Frey told us, "Well there's a burger joint pretty close to here that we can stop at." "As long as it's warm." Nat said.

At lunch I got a lot of texts coming at once from my phone. It startled me, but I'm not surprised because these texts are from the man himself.

I smirked and set down my phone. When lunch was over, Frey took us to our next location. "Mini golfing?" Nat realized where Frey had led us and I laughed, "Oh you guys are going down." "You wish." Frey smirked. Nat rolled her eyes, "I'm obviously going to win."

We definitely didn't keep track of the scores correctly. I gave up halfway through and made it a new game for myself to sabotage Nat's game instead. "Autumn stop hitting my ball further away from the hole!" Nat complained, yet I just kept doing it. In the end, Frey won by like a lot and I successfully pissed off Nat. That was also honestly the longest mini golf game I had ever played in my life.

"So where to next?" I piped up as the three of us climbed back into Frey's car. Frey shrugged, "I have a bit of an idea, but how about we just drive around for a little bit." "Sounds good to me." Nat nodded and I agreed. Frey gave us the basic overview of her town, drove us to the best views, showed her old high school, and just explained a lot about her life in North Carolina.

Frey drove up somewhere and found a nice view, then parked her car. She proceeded to get out and open up the trunk, leaving Nat and I confused. Frey told us to get out of the car and we saw what she was doing. In the back of Frey's car was a blanket set up with food on it: a car picnic. "It's still cold out, but I figured we could have a picnic and watch the sunset still." Frey explained and I smiled, "It's literally perfect Frey." She scooted the middle seats forward so we could have more space in the back to hang out and have our picnic.

We watched the sun set and I devoured some of the sandwiches Frey had packed for us in a basket. This trip has been absolutely amazing and I'm going to miss Frey so much. Hopefully I'll be back soon and maybe I'll visit some of my other friends in the future. I don't want to go home, yet I know I have to. I wish this night could just last forever, but fate somehow has its ways and decisions, but I know I'll be back here at some point. On the way back home I fell asleep in the car... and that's how my last day in North Carolina went.
