"I can't believe they're getting married before us" I muttered, looking down at the invitation that Atherol has just dropped in my lap.
You are cordially invited to the wedding of Draco Malfoy and Astoria Greengrass
Location: Malfoy Manor
Date: 17th June
'They are moving so quick" Daphne sighed, looking at her identical letter, "I mean he proposed on their second year anniversary"
"When you know you know I suppose" I replied, wearily.
Fred and George were still at work and Daphne and I were enjoying the day off. She'd recently taken up a position at Gringotts that Bill had helped her get the interview for, putting her Advanced Arithmancy O.W.L. to good use.
I was quite glad the invitation had arrived while Fred was out, I wasn't sure how he'd feel about going the Manor. Though it had been 4 years since the end of the war and Fred had begun to warm to Draco I didn't suppose he'd actually want to attend his wedding.
"I haven't even got a proposal and we've been together over 5 years" I mumbled, throwing the letter down next to me on the sofa. Daphne laughed quietly to herself and folded the parchment back up into it's envelope.
The fireplace in front of us flashed a brilliant shade of green and the twins stepped out, chatting seriously to one another until they noticed we were there watching them. Fred's eyes immediately narrowed on the invitation next to me.
"What's that?" he asked coyly, pointing to it. I snatched it up immediately and hid it behind my back. Fred sprinted to the sofa and jumped on top of me, making me squirm beneath him.
"Fred!" I yelped, as his knee dug into my thigh. He jumped off of me, brandishing the letter in his hand.
"Aha!" he cried, waving it frantically in my face. His eyes flicked down to it and George leant over his shoulder to read it too. They looked at each other in dismay and then back at us.
"We're not going to go are we?" Fred whined.
"Well I'll have to" George grumbled, heading in the direction of the kitchen.
"Hey! That's my sister" Daphne cried, chasing after me as they continued to bicker quietly about his comment.
"Your sister isn't the problem" I heard George defend himself.
Fred collapsed on to the sofa beside and wrapped an arm loosely around my shoulder, putting the invite back in my lap.
"I suppose we should go, keep those two company" Fred whispered, nodding towards Daphne and George, "Always wondered what the Manor might be like"
"Oh it's incredible, it's-" I started, but he shot me a confused glance, "I went for that party?"
Fred nodded, showing that he did remember I'd told him, though I forgave him for forgetting, it had been many years ago now. I'd always left out the bit about spending the night in Lucius and Narcissa's bed with Draco at my side when I'd told him. Oops.
"Might be nice, get all dressed up" Fred grinned, taking the invite off my lap and putting it up on the mantelpiece with all the photographs, "We might finally get a more recent photograph of us"
He tapped at the glass of the photo of us together at the shop opening. It'd been so long ago now but it was still my favourite. We hadn't had any others since because there just hadn't been an occasion for it.
"I suppose" I shrugged.
17th of June 2003
The morning of the wedding had arrived and the house was chaotic as we got ready. Daphne had left early, being one of Astoria's bridesmaids meant she had to be at the Manor bright and early to help her get ready and she'd left in such a rush that she'd forgotten their rings. We'd received a frantic owl from her asking us to bring them.
