"Sounds like a town we used to know." Michonne said, thinking of Wood bury.
"We need more information first, we don't even know what state it's in." Abraham spoke.
"Would they even let us in if we got there?" Glenn questioned.
Everything was buzzing. Were we willing to go after what I heard happened in Terminus? Everyone stood in the kitchen debating. Daryl hadn't said a word the whole time, but sometimes when I looked across the room at him, I caught his eyes on me.
I looked down quickly once again catching him, blushing. Why was he looking at me like that?
Slowly, in the midst of the talking I turned and crept up the old wooden stairs, careful not to make any noise.
Twisting the white paint chipped door knob, I opened the door a bit. Letting a sliver of light cascade down on Alex. He was sleeping now, his body needing all his energy to heal his wounds.
I just wanted to talk to him, ask him if we had a chance at his home. If we'd be able to live behind the safety of walls again.
But I decided against it, turning around and sliding the door shut.
Daryl stood in front of me, his eye brows raised. I just shrugged, pushing pass him. He grabbed hold of my arm then. Pulling me real close, literal shivers spread all through out my body.
"Outside." He whispered softly, just like his grip. His breath smelt like cigarettes. And I could almost feel his lips brush my ear.
I nodded dumb struck and headed out the door, going towards the back yard, there was a wooden bench plopped right in the middle.
I sat down, putting my feet up, and tracing the out line of a delicately carved pattern.
I peered around the landscape, it was so flat I was sure we could see a walker from miles. Across the horizon a fuzzy line was forming.
My breath caught in my throat, the walker herd.
A hand placed on my shoulder made me jump and I flipped around.
"Is it the walker herd? It looks like it" I ask quickly.
Daryl glared, placing his other hand- leaving one on my shoulder- above his eyes.
"Maybe." He said.
"Should we warn the others?" I turned, causing his hand to fall.
"Yeah," he started "in a bit." He wouldn't make eye contact with me. Staring down at our feet, which were only a few inches away from each other, shuffling.
"Daryl? Are you okay?" I tried to hold his eyes but he wouldn't allow me.
"Mhm." I wrapped my arms around his waist pulling him close to me. His arms went around my shoulders, more tightly then before.
"When we were in the hospital, and that women-" his grip tightened, "I shot her you know." He pulled away a bit, to look at me.
"I carried you out, and those three weeks you were on the line between life and death, I felt so-"
"I know." I interrupted, "I kinda heard you, crying. Those three weeks, I was kinda alive but yet sleeping. But I felt it. And that's why I'm here."
"Good." He pulled away from me completely, "I don't trust him"
"Alex?" I raised my eyes brows confused and yet in a bit of sorrow that our hug ended so soon.
"Yeah," he whispered, then more louder: "Yeah Beth. Just watch out, okay?"
I smiled, "okay." Daryl Dixon was actually worried about me.
I was floating.
