Yay! I never thought I'd get this far! Thanks you all ~kristy
I broke out in a sprint, completely forgetting the Jessie and Pete for the moment, towards the noise.
A man I didn't know took a swing at Glenn just as I rounded the corner, Glenn side stepped the swing easily and landed a punch just as quickly. Daryl already had blood on his knuckles, and a cut on his cheek.
"Stop!" I shouted sliding in front of Daryl, he tried to side step me, but I kept up. I laid my hands on his collar bone, and his eyes slowly softened as he peered down at me.
Rick had arrived, wearing a fancy uniform that looked a lot like a cops. Glenn appeared fine, but the other guy had blood gushing from his nose.
"What is going on?" Deanna scowled out raged. Glenn explained something about being out there, how they didn't know what they were doing, and how Adain took the first swing.
At first I thought she'd be outraged, given that he was her son, but she thanked Glenn.
My eyes widened and met with Ricks, the same look registered on his face. Daryl turned to walk away but I called after him. I know he heard me, but he didn't turn.
...
For the millionth time this evening I peered at my reflection in the mirror. I wore a short plain dress. The top rising high as a tank top, and ending at the waist. It was printed with light neutral colors. The half full black skirt rushed down from the waist band, reaching halfway down my thigh. I was wearing flats and my hair was open and curly. I almost looked like I was normal, not a girl that's been bit but hasn't turned.
I tied two strips of black ribbon to each wrist, so that it wouldn't stand out as if I had just one covered. Timely, I peeled the door open, the hinges creaking and glanced at the hall way.
I was fairly certain that everyone had left already. I made my way down the stairs and headed for the door, vowing to only stay an hour.
"Beth I'm sorry 'bout earlier." Daryl announced behind me. I jumped slightly at the surprise.
"Its fine." I shrugged it off, turning so that I could see him standing by the kitchen family.
"You, uh." He brought his hand up to touch his chin with his index finger, suddenly nervous to be in a room with me.
"Don't bring any guys home tonight." He finally stated, nodding to himself.
"Why not?" I probed further.
"Because none of 'em are good enough for ya." He hadn't thought about that statement, it just flew out of his mouth like he had been waiting to say it. I nodded looking down at my feet.
"Then who is?"
He grumbled a little, unsure if what to say.
"I don't know, I guess no one. Maybe Rick, Carl." His voice slowly died.
"There's someone your forgetting Daryl, he's good enough. And its the only name I really want to hear." The words spewed out, like my mouth was saying things before my brain could catch up.
He looked up solemnly, crystal clear eyes meeting mine. Then... I... Winked.
It wasn't a fast one either, it was a slow emphasized wink. I watched his lips slowly crack a smile.
"See ya later." I smiled opening the door, "tonight!" I added flirtatiously before shutting it completely.
I'm dying anyways.
