I wanted to lay down and control my breathing, to never get up, and to vomit or sweat away this memory. Gun shots fired, people fell to the ground in thuds. I grasped the pavement with my bloody hands, from falling. Slowly I stood up, Michonne was slicing away, killing a walker that had been drawn to the noise along with one of Justin's men.

Daryl, had pulled Justin off me, I don't get how he got past the men that had been holding him back, but he did. I watched as his fist slammed into Justin's face, over and over again.

Justin exhaled loudly as Daryl kicked him in the stomach.

He was indignant.

I ran over and grabbed a hold of his torso trying to talk to him, "just shoot him Daryl!"

Through the corner of my eye I watched Carol drive a knife into a mans skull, and watched Gabriel cry.

Daryl stood above Justin now, listening carefully as he tried to say something, his voice clouded over by the amount of blood rising in his mouth.

"I would have put..."

"A bullet right through..."

"Her pretty face." He sputtered, Daryl punched him again. I held my gun out ready to shoot him.

"And it would-"

He wheezed.

"Have been so enjoyable." He raised a crippled finger accusingly at Daryl and smiled. Just had that crazy look in his eyes again, the one from earlier. I wanted to hurt him so bad, his phrases and odd taunting disgusted me, but instead I squeezed the trigger.Daryl was just about to grab him again and smash his head on the concrete, before the bullet entered his skull. There was a satisfying echo as the bullet left the chamber, and an ever more satisfying silence that followed after.

"You didn't need to do all that!" I shouted exasperated that he was so vehement.

Daryl just looked at me, and it reminded me of the night I was kidnapped by the police officers, when I asked him what changed his mind. His eyes creasing in sadness and loss, like a little boy that just watched a butterfly being eaten by a bird.

"A man like that, deserved it." Rick voiced. Standing behind Daryl, he watched us for a second as we held eye contact.

"Is everyone else okay?" I asked, my pitch to high and squeaky.

"Yeah everyone made it." Rick replied, turning around and observing the group.

"How?" I queried, breathing shortly.

"When Justin was-" he searched his brain for an appropriate word to use, "holding you, Maggie managed to sneak a gun from the ground, shooting five men before anyone knew what was going on." I nodded, and ran over to Maggie, who was fussing over a large cut on Glenn's arm.

"Are you alright?" I asked, my eyes widened in concern. He nodded, looking down and avoiding eye contact.

Maggie embraced in a large hug, holding me close as she stroked my hair.

She wasn't crying but I could see pity in her eyes. I wanted to talk to her about it, I mean that's the kind of things you would only talk to your sister about, the weird forced to kiss a guy stuff. But not now, not with everyone watching.

I could tell they were all waiting for me to break down and cry, but I just stared at the ground until Rick told us to search the vehicles.

Relieved to be able to do something, rather then having Daryl's sharp eyes always on me.
Was he disgusted now?
Was he ever not?

I didn't want this to change anything. I wanted to erase it. I didn't want to keep needed saving.
