"I can't believe you talked me into this!" Duke shouted, hanging onto the rope for dear life. His Tabikat Chloe seemed to forget sometimes that she now had a human riding on her back. Mel wasn't fairing well either since his Guina Norman had a relatively short attention span. Getting his dragon to fly where he wanted to go, Mel's eyes widened when he saw the Viper. His jaw dropping, he mumbled, "Oh my gods..."
"Right, we're dead," Buddy declared.
"Alright gang, what do we know about Vipers?" Max asked, sitting behind Gidget on her dragon. Keeping her dragon Hu calm as best as she can, Daisy answered, "They're huge, ugly and are poisonous." Nodding his head, Max asked, "What else?" Gazing down at the Viper, Mel commented, "This one seems to be blind in one eye and has a broken fang." Raising his hand, Buddy asked, "Do we have a plan?"
"Yeah. Daisy, you have the biggest dragon here," Max responded. Pointing to a ship that hadn't caught fire yet, he explained, "Use that boat and get everyone else out of here. Their safety is the most important thing right now." With a brisk nod of her head, Daisy didn't protest as she steered Hu towards the ship. Turning to the other dragon riders, Max continued, "The rest of you, keep the Viper busy. I'll join you as soon as I can." With that, he and Gidget headed for the burning ships to rescue Snowball. Heading straight for the Viper, Duke shouted, "Let's do this!"
"I think we need a plan first!" Mel cried. Flying ahead of everyone else, Buddy shouted, "We got one! Attack!" Roaring, his dragon Ozone breathed out a cloud of grayish green gas at the Viper. A moment later, he sparked it by scraping his sharp teeth together. A huge explosion followed suit. The Viper turned around, hissing. Gulping, Buddy murmured, "Well, that's one way to get its attention."
"There, I see him!" Gidget declared, pointing. Whirling his head to the left, Max saw Snowball. Still chained up, the Rabbu couldn't break from his bonds. To make matters worse, the ship he was on was engulfed in flames and slowly sinking into the dark waters surrounding the island. The situation did not look good. Gidget flew the Halcon as close as she could to the burning ship. Jumping down onto the deck, Max called up, "Go help the others!"
"Be careful!" Gidget replied back, flying away. Heading for the Viper, she murmured quietly to her dragon, "Okay Tiberius, let's do this." Baring his sharp fangs, the Halcon growled in response. Flying straight at the much larger dragon, he set his outstretched talons on fire before striking near the Viper's blind eye. The serpentine dragon screeched in pain.
"Yeah! Take that- AHH!" Buddy shouted before screaming as he narrowly avoided a fireball.
