"Hey, is there another book that I can read that includes... I don't know... more facts about the Rabbu?" Max asked. He was standing in the training arena amidst a giant maze with a shield in his hand. He had been looking up at Pops, who was watching from above outside the arena. The teen barely even heard the fireball coming his way.
He quickly noticed it before he was burned alive.
"Save all questions until after class," Pops muttered as he grabbed another nut from the bag he held and ate it. All the while, he watched the five teenagers being chased around the maze by a Tabikat, who was walking along the walls of the maze. Spotting Mel huddling in a corner, it hissed before swinging its spiked tail at him. Screaming, Mel used his shield as he shouted, "I really hate your teaching methods!"
"I absolutely love your teaching methods," Duke chuckled as he and Pops shared the bag of hazelnuts.
"Seriously, is there another book or-" Max started asking again. However, he couldn't finish when he accidentally ran into Gidget. Both fell to the ground, her axe getting stuck in his shield. In the meantime, the blue striped Tabikat was on a wild goose chase after Buddy and Daisy. In the process, it knocked down the walls of the temporary maze. And it was closing in on its prey.
"Excuse me for a second," Gidget murmured. Before Max could say anything, she stood up and ripped her axe out of his shield. With a broken piece of wood stuck on its blade, she boldly ran towards the Tabikat, who had cornered Mel, and whacked it in the face hard. Yowling, the dragon backed off. Clapping from above, Pops remarked, "Well done."
"Hey, here's an idea to think about," Daisy pointed out as she walked past Max, "Stop asking stupid questions and get your head in the game because we are in a war. Figure out whose side you're on or get killed."
