— For memories , Wilbur (Maybe I was Boring)Tommy woke up, stretching and yawning as his eyes adjusted to the orange-tinged, filtered, mid morning light in his room. His alarm blared at him as it continued going off, phone playing parting worlds on an endless loop. He reached to his bedside table to turn it off, but only succeeded in knocking it off the small wooden table.
"Motherfucker-" Tommy shouted, exasperated at and annoyed, pissed off, and waiting for the inevitable "LANGUAGE TOMMY" from his adoptive dad, Phil, who still thought that as a 16 year old he couldn't swear.
A faint "language Tommy" echoed through the floor in a very northern, but also welcoming, accent, right on cue, as if scripted. Not too long after, there was a small knock on his door, and the door was pushed open, a small brown haired boy poked his head through the door,
"Tubbo! Mornin'!" Tommy said, a smile on his face, and mood immediately better than before. Tubbos bedroom was just opposite his own, and it looked as though tubbo hadn't been up for long.
"Hey tommy! Phil wanted me to ask if you wanted breakfast yet," Tubbo asked, smiling in that (bitter)sweet way only Tubbo ever did to Tommy, one of the special moments they shared between themselves sometimes, almost as if a magnetic spark jumped between the two, pulling them ever closer to each other.
"Yeah! Tell him I'll be down in a minute!" Tommy said, enthusiasm he didn't really feel strong in his voice. with that Tubbo noisily clambered down the stairs, to talk to Phil, most likely.
Tommy got up slowly out of bed, sitting up and reaching for his slightly battered but highly precious phone, checking his socials, sending snaps and scrolling through twitter for a while, before remembering that he had to go downstairs. he quickly clambered out of bed, throwing off his duvet, grabbing his usual red and white t-shirt and olive bandana, throwing on his normal jeans and heading downstairs, just as noisy as usual, a direct contrast to tubbos noiseless descent. When he reached the kitchen, Phil was standing by the stove, frying what smelled like bacon and eggs, whilst Tubbo sat at the table browsing his phone, with his back not so cleverly positioned towards the door, allowing tommy to silently creep up on him,
"WHAT TH- oh, hey Tommy! How are you?" Tubbo said, grinning like a fool.
Tommy smiled back,
"Yeah I'm good," he paused, questioning what to say next, wary of the fact Phil was listening to the conversation, "got any ideas for what to do today?"
It was the middle of the schools summer holidays, so tubbo was thinking of exploring the spruce forest nearby, or going swimming on the small lake that was also nearby.
"We could go exploring in the forest maybe?" Tubbo looked towards Phil for confirmation that would be ok to do
"If you do, make sure you have all the stuff boys," Phil said, glancing over from the frying pan, which was now full of some eggs, which he was cooking.
"Sure thing dad!" And the two boys ran off, thundering up the stairs, well tommy more than tubbo, and started gathering the necessary supplies.
"TOMMY YOU- gah nevermind," Phil sighed audibly from downstairs, "don't- don't even bother..."Tommy hastily unlocked and opened the front door, positively grinning with the amount of joy and energy he had. He jumped up and down for a bit, whilst waiting for tubbo. Across the street, he watched an older boy from his school, who everyone called "a furry" but whose actual name was Fundy, tie on a pair of sneakers, grab his bike, and cycle off up the slight hill, zooming past Tommy with a slight wave. The two knew each other through school, and even though they weren't particularly friendly, as Fundy always hung out with Wilbur and Techno, they always said hello in passing.
"Tommy!" Tubbo said from behind, "you got everything?"
"Yep! I'm all ready! Did you grab the lunch off the table?" Tommy asked, having seen Phil preparing some sandwiches and a small picnic.
"Course!" Tubbo said, the grin on his face evident in his words, "you know I'd never leave the food tommy-"
Tommy grinned. It was hard not to be happy with his best freind and soulmate right there, having fun, and smiling as if there was no end to days.
Summer truly was one of the best times, particularly since he'd met tubbo, about 10 years ago now....A/n - this is not a ship ff, between anyone involved unless they are openly together irl (like Phil and Kristen), it will be entirely platonic so please don't try and twist it into anything else :] <3
