Prompt: Someone new joins the team. Little did they know she was smarter than everyone, even Spence.
-
It had been any usual Monday morning. The sun shining brightly through the windows of headquarters, a light breeze coming from open windows.
Everyone was called in, for what was assumed another case. Of which was correct, but there was more to it than just that. A new member would be joining the team today.
Hotch started a run down of the case, as well as other important news that everyone should know of. Trying to hold off on the biggest news till he saw you in the main area.
A noise of a bird sound within the elevator, as you whistle your favorite song. Adjusting how you blazer sat against your slim body.
Once reaching the 6th floor, you walked out of the doors. Having a bit of pep to your step. All eyes turned to the young, new agent that stepped into the main area.
Looking around, you locked eyes with a tall man with dark brown hair, and matching eyes. He nodded at you, as a signal to come up towards the room. Eagerly you you made your way up.
"As my last bit of news, we have a new member joining the team." Everyone looked at him in disbelief. "Meet SSA (Y/n) (y/l/n)."
Almost like it were rehearsed, you walked into the board room. The team continued to share the shocked face.
None of them thought a new member would be joining anytime soon. However it quickly washed away, no thanks to Penelope. She made sure you knew who every one was, within an instant.
"I'm Penelope, I'm sure you already know Hotch here. This is Jennifer Jareau, or as we call her JJ. Our old timer, David Rossi. The great Emily Prentiss. Dark, tall and amazingly handsome, Derek Morgan." The she pauses. Leaving one person left, one who had his face hurried in case files. "Let's not forget, our resident genius, Spencer Reid."
That's when he looked up. His hazel eyes, locked with your (e/c) ones. His hair was long and messy, but it suited him well.
Everyone exchanged their hellos and greetings. Well all expect Spencer, nervousness filled his face, redness as well on his cheeks.
Quickly the topic was changed back towards the case. It was a serial killer case, girls aged 18-24, all stabbed at least 10 times throughout the chest and stomach. You all talked of theories and the basics of the killer.
Spencer said something on some of the markings, that were on the woman's skin. You laughed a bit at his fact.
"What's so funny?" He had a bit of a tone to his voice.
"Nothing. Just your facts are wrong, that's all."
Jaws dropped. You honestly didn't get it, why everyone looked so surprised. He said the markings looked to be of a dog, probably a rottweiler. But it's not, and it's not your fault he was wrong. After all they said he was a genius sooo.
"Do enlighten me then." He moved to the edge of his seat, you mimicked his actions.
"It wasn't a rottweiler that made that bite mark. A rottweiler's bite would do a lot more damage than just that, due to the force of their bite. But I can't lie there clearly was a lot of force put into it, meaning it was probably a German Shepherd. They place I believe second when it comes to bite force. Although it was a good guess, but you were wrong."
Spencer went on to argue with you about how you were wrong. However once someone looked it up, it was proven that you were right. Which infuriated the agent, but made Derek give you a high five. "For years I have been trying to prove him wrong on something, so thank you!" He laughed.
The briefing continued as usual. Although no one would let it down that someone corrected Spencer. If you were being honest, it kind of gave you a boost of confidence.
20 minutes was what we were given to get ready. You didn't get why, just grab your bag and go. Right?
You were one of the last to leave the board room. But before you could step out, someone gripped your arm. Pulling you back into the room.
The door was slammed shut, and you pinned to it. Spencer looked down at you, his breathe warm against your face.
"You know you correcting me. It was hot, not gonna lie. But don't ever do it again." He spoke with confidence and authority. Something he didn't look like he had much of.
"Maybe if you got your facts correct, I wouldn't have to." A smirk spread across your face.
From that day forward interactions like that would happen, between the two of you. Constantly correcting each other was 'your thing' and the whole team caught onto it. Guess you could say it was a way of flirting.
Even after he finally got the guts to ask you out, it continued on. Although what followed after it, was far more rewarding. If you know what I mean.

I know Spencer isn't usually the most confident, but I thought it would make it a bit more interesting. But anyways, I really liked writing this part, so yeah. Leave requests, if you have any I guess. Until next week.
