Prompt: Who knew a coffee shop of all places, would be where you met the love of your life.
-
Everyday I would walk to the same little coffee shop, down at the end of my steet. Every morning ordering the same latte with some food, usually a croissant. Before moving to one of the tables to enjoy it, then headed off to work.
I'd be there so often that depending on the day, one of the baristas would put my order down at the table you sit at. Leaving me to pay when I leave, or they wouldn't make me pay sometimes.
Being that I were there everyday day as well, you saw all of the people that would pass by. Some would be familiar, some wouldn't. However there was one person that I could always pick out.
He was tall, skinny and his dark hair always sat like a mop on his head. But it suited him. Usually he would wear a vest or suit or button up of some kind, always looking professional. Typically he seemed to be in a rush, but sometimes he'd sit and drink his coffee.
I was honestly intrigued by this man. He only came on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. Every once in a while skipping a day, but if he did he would come more the following week.
It became apparent that he would notice me starring at him. Smiling to himself when he would look over, and you would look away. A few weeks after he first noticed me starring, he would stay longer, and when sitting he would sit closer to me. It was as if he was just as intrigued about me, I was him.
Neither of us talked to the other. Just constantly exchanging glances, and shared smiles. Maybe a little wave here and there, but never were words exchanged. I didn't mind though, I enjoyed those little things like that.
One day he walked in with a group of people. A tall muscular man, a Raven haired women, a blonde women and a very colourful blonde women. Even though he had all those people with him, his eyes stayed focused on me.
The group of people fastly took note of it, especially when they all sat down. He seemed so far away in their conversation, slowly getting lost in my actions.
(Penelope's POV)
Finally we had a day off! However we all still hung out together. That being Derek, Emily, JJ, Spence and I. Reid took us to a little coffee shop he found, it is honestly the cutest one I've been to!
They had all these pastries and homemade bakery foods. And... they had CROISSANTS!!! Which are obviously the best!
Our conversations were very basic, just anything that didn't involve work. That was always the goal at least, every once in a while it would revert back to it. However one thing was missing from the conversation, the nerdy little facts that Spencer would spew out.
I wouldn't say I was the only one to notice it either. Emily kept trying to follow his line of sight, then Derek would try.
"Wait! Is that her?" Emily spoke up. Even though it didn't pull Spencer's attention back to us.
It was true though, Spencer did speak of a women he would see sometimes. He only ever spoke of her beauty, always reminding us that he had never fully spoken to her. Badly wanting to, but can never draw up the courage.
To be honest it was hard to fully tell if it was her or not. He told us that her eyes were a gorgeous colour of (e/c), her hair mid length, shiny, and (h/c). But what always caught his attention, as he told us, was the tattoo on her hand/wrist. It was of a serpent, the body wrapping around her wrist, with the head leading up to her hand. It sound beautiful based on his description.
"You know I think it is her, Emily." Derek was squinting at the women.
"Who's her?" JJ questioned, trying to find who they were talking of.
I guess all of us knew about her but JJ, but I can kinda see why. She didn't tend to spend as much time talking as the rest of us, or at least when we talked in my Batcave.
"The women that Spencer has been talking about for the past 2 months. However he is yet to talk to her." Derek told the basics.
JJ honestly looked shocked at the fact that Spencer had a little crush. Her face changed to an almost disgusted look now, but she shook it off after I said something.
Moments later the women looked over at us. Everyone turned their heads, it was pretty funny. Spencer was the only on that looked embarrassed, although she continued to stare and blush. It was adorable!!
"You know pretty boy if you don't go over and ask her out, I might ask for you or for myself." Hot stuff smirked while speaking to Spencer.
"Umm no chocolate thunder, I wanna do it. I'm sure I'll be able to get her number for genius boy!"
Quickly I stood up and walked over to her table. As I got closer she looked up from her coffee, that she had been stirring for a while.
A soft smile spread across her face. Honestly I get what he sees in her, she's got a beautiful smile!
"Hi, I'm Penelope! May I sit?" Motioning towards the open seat across from her. The women nodded and I happily took a seat.
I had brought my coffee over with me. Before I started talking again, I took a swift sip of my drink. It was sweet and nice, and MUCH needed.
"Okay, so, my friend over there, the one with the mop hair, he's taken a liking to you! Quite honestly I don't blame him, if I were into girls I would so go for you myself!" We both paused a laughed a bit. "Anyways he kinda lacks the confidence to ask people out. Soooo, me being a good friend, I said I'd ask him for you!"
A wide smile spread long both our faces. I think she was excited to, in some way, be asked out by him.
She snuck a quick glance over at Spencer. Their eyes locked for a good minute, before turning back towards me.
"That being said... I want to get to know you a bit before I 'ask' for your number. As much as I already like you, I just want to make sure, you know?"
"Oh yeah I get it!" She said with a light laugh. "Wanna make sure I'm not a serial killer and all!" A awkward laugh escaped my mouth, although I don't think she noticed. Wouldn't she like to know how much a wish that.
*your pov*
Penelope and I have been talking for the last few minutes, and already she seems like a friend. God how I wish we could be finished with these questions. Or soon I might just walk over and hand him my number.
The pressure of someone starring grew heavier as the questions continued. It was obvious to tell who it was from, or more of like the group of people. They probably wanted to see how I was reacting to everything.
"Ok (y/n), I think that's enough. Could I have your number?" The words excitedly left her mouth.
My face lit up, I was so happy that I'd finally be able to talk to this stranger.
"Yes! Yes you can." I wrote it down on a piece of paper. But I didn't hand it to Penelope.
I got up and walked over towards the tall man, handing him the paper. "You should call me tonight" Giving him a wink, I walked out of the coffee shop. Honestly I knew this would be the start of something great. Hopefully.

To be honest, I really like this! Should I do a part 2?
