SEASON 15 SPOILERS!!
Penelope left the BAU, and Spencer can't handle it as well as he thought he could.

It was weird, lately Spencer had been closing himself off from you. Something he only tended to do when he was upset. But when you went to talk to him about it, he would say he was fine, so you left it be because he would tell you if something had actually been wrong.

The only thing is, he was also closing everyone off at work as well, only talking to them if it were about a case. On numerous occasions had Emily or Luke come to talk to you about it. You could only tell them what you knew, which was that he was fine and that you didn't press the matter much after that. Mainly because it would end in a fight a lot of the times.

As weeks went on, and Spencer started talking to people less then he was before, you thought you'd finally press it. Not caring what it would end up being.

Spencer and you had been on the way home from work. The car ride was dead silent, Spencer was too focused on the road to talk to you. Although he didn't let whatever was bothering him, stop himself from holding your hand as he drove. Something he would always do, even if he was mad at you.

Once you walked through the door, you placed your bag down on the couch. Turning back around to Spencer, who was closing the door behind him once he walked him. He stayed by the door, choosing not to move away from it.

"Spence-" Was all you had to say, before he leaned back against the door and slid down it. Starting to cry into his knees.

Immediately you rushed to his side, wrapping your arms around his side.  You weren't going to say anything, you wanted to do it on his terms, although him not answering was not an option.

It took what felt like ten minutes for him to finally say something, not that you minded. This was as close as he had let you get to him in a long time, he hadn't opened up this much in a long ass time.

"It's just... i can't do it!" He yelled while still crying. You were confused to be honest, what was it he couldn't do? "I can't pretend that everything is okay. I can't act like she didn't just leave. It's like they don't care, or that it doesn't affect them."

You knew the person he was talking about, the moment he said she. Penelope. It had only been 2ish weeks since she had left the BAU, and it was hard on Spencer then, clearly even harder on him now. You missed her dearly as well, but tried your best to push it aside, no matter how hard it was. Especially with the new technical analysis, he wasn't as quick with info as she was to say the least.

At this point there wasn't much you could say to Spencer to help cheer him up, and it drove you crazy. After all this time of waiting for him to open up about it, you didn't know what to say to him, how to help him.

"I just miss her, and when I finally forget about it for a bit or get busy, I randomly get reminded about it. Mainly because of that stupid new tech guy, Ryan. He's just not as good, then I'll sit there thinking about how I wished we had Penelope there with us instead." Spencer said taking his head out of his lap finally. Moving to a different position then before.

"If I'm being honest I don't really know what I can say to help you." Him and you giggled at that. "But I definitely can relate to missing her. The thing is, is that I always think of the fact that she will visit, she promised she would. Plus it's Penny do you really think she can stay away from us forever?" Once again another laugh, and Spencer shook his head no. Good, progress. "I think the others are the same way. I mean have you seen how Emily is putting herself into her work and getting for frustrated recently, it's because she needs to think about that, otherwise she'll drown in the fact that Penny isn't there." Spencer looked down at the floor, but you placed your finger under his chin to lift his head up. "No one forgot about her, they just need to focus on other things. Besides it's not like she is dead! You can still visit her."

Spencer didn't say anything after that, he didn't need to. He needed to her all of it, at the least. The two of you sat there in silence her a few more moments, before Spencer pulled you into his lap, holding you close to him.

"Do you think we can see her this weekend?" He asked quietly.

"Yes. Yes we can!" You answered back.

I Have no idea what this is. I just finished rewatching Criminal Minds, and I thought this would be a good prompt, but idk how I feel about it. But yeah.

Also, I've been wanting to write a Criminal Minds story. It can be any characters, with either and xreader or xothercharacter, I just can't think of any idea. So let me know if anyone thinks of something (either leave a comment on this, or dm me).
