Part of the team drag Spencer out to go shopping with them after a hard week, and after a bit of a struggle he agrees to go. As they were out shopping Penelope pulled him into a store she likes to go to time to time, and there he meets someone.-
"Come on Spence" Emily whined. "It'll be fun. Loosen up a bit."
"Yeah seriously Spence, when was the last time you went out and had some fun?" JJ added on, they've been trying to gilt trip Spencer into joining them to go shopping.
"Not in a long time... but I'm okay with that." JJ and Emily both crossed their arms, giving him a look of 'you really didn't just say that'. "Besides I have a lot of work to do, and you'll have way more fun without me." He exaggerated the 'way' hoping that it would add to his case. But no one was taking his answer.
That's when Derek and Penelope walked in, neither knew that Spencer didn't want to go. They'd been finishing up the last of their work, in their separate office's.
"What's all this chatter about?" Derek said in a way as if he was trying to be flirty.
Emily and JJ rolled their eyes. Still annoyed that Spencer wouldn't go out with them, and was making up excuses for why he can't. Even though they all knew he had finished his work hours ago, and was just sitting there reading a book.
"Spencer says he's not coming!" Emily said annoyed, and throwing her arms towards him.
"What!?" Derek seemed to be shocked in the moment, but in all reality they knew he wasn't going to want to go. "You know, today isn't the day for fighting about this. You're coming Reid, whether you like it or not."
Derek decided that grabbing Spencer by the arms, and dragging him out to the car was the better option. It had been a long day, a long week even, and no one was in the mood to argue with him about whether or not he was going out with them.
Spencer made a big scene on the way out of the building, most people didn't try to do anything about it though, this tended to happen a lot. Like a lot more than anyone would like.
By the time they reached the car, Spencer was on the ground literally being dragged. "FINE! I'll go, but don't expect me to enjoy it." He said angrily. Once he was fully in the car with the door closed, Derek let out a huff.
"Really! What gave it away that he wouldn't enjoy it." He spoke sarcastically to the girls, they let out a shrug in response. Then all got into the car, with Penelope and Derek in the front seats, and Emily and JJ on either side of Spencer in the back.
If you were someone (like Spencer) who wasn't enjoying the car ride, then you'd say it was boring. On the other hand if you were anyone else in the car, then man you were having so much fun, dancing around, listening to the music Penelope had on. Even Derek, who should have been more focused on the road, was dancing and jumping around while driving.
By the time they all got to the mall, laughter filled the around surrounding them. Penelope's laugh could probably be heard at the doors to enter.
Like clockwork Spencer decided that he wasn't going to go when they went to pull him out of the door, thankfully this time it was easier to get him out. "You're coming, whether you like it or not!" Emily said to him, pulling his arm through the parking lot.
Before anything they all sat down and had dinner, each one of the picking a different place to eat. And once again the laughter came back again, at some point they thought maybe someone would come up to them asking them to quiet down . No one ever did though, not that they minded that much, they were having fun. Even Spencer.
Once they finished eating it was time to go walk around. In and out of what seemed like a thousand stores, Spencer still wasn't fully into the idea of walking around with the. However, he had Emily and JJ on both of his arms, so he didn't get much of a say in it, wherever they went he went too. That was until they switch and Penelope took his arm instead, dragging him into a store she went to from time to time.
"Oh, come on Spence! I think you might actually like this store!" She said with a huge smile on her face.
"We'll see." He huff out, Penelope took it as a queue to start fast walking towards the store.
Spencer walked around looking rack to rack, while Penelope knew exactly where she want to look. Whilst Spencer was walking around he saw a girl that no one would really think would be his type at first, then again guess no one really stopped and asked him. She was dressed in black ripped jeans, a band t-shirt, basic black converse, a flannel, and she had her hair dyed with purple and blue streaks in it. He liked her, or at least based off of looks he did, but he was sure that if he got to know her personality he would like it just as much.
He must have been staring because she waved at him with an awkward smile on, the kind someone would make if they felt somewhat uncomfortable. Quickly he turned around a bit, scratching the back of his neck nervously. Little to his surprise he felt someone tap his shoulder, and when he turned around it was the girl that he was just staring at.
"Hey, I know this is kind of weird. But, why were you staring at me?" She was shorter then she seemed from far away, then again though he was standing right in front of her, and he was tall. Anyways besides that mental note to himself, she seemed nervous much like him, but less at the same time.
"If I'm being honest I-I don't really know. People tend to stare at others when they like something about the other, or dislike, and there isn't much from what I can see that I don't dislike so.
"In what, you mean my body or something?!"
"god no! The last thing I think about is usually body. I think you look nice that's all."
A barely audible 'oh' was all that came out. "Interesting. Whelp, I'm y/n, nice to meet you..."
"Spencer" he answered in response.
She nodded slightly "give me your arm." Hesitantly he stuck his arm out for her to take. She then reached into her pocket and pulled out a sharpie, and proceeded to write something on his arm. It seemed to be a number of sorts. "That's my number, call it at some point." She smirked, and that's when he realized that she had been chewing gum the whole time, and blew a bubble out of it.
Penelope then came back over to Spencer. She must have know this girl or seen her because she had a face of recognition, or maybe she just made face not meaning anything about it.
"Well." She started "iIt seems like you have to go. So hopefully I'll see you around again."
Then Spencer and Penelope left the store, and Spencer asked the group a question no one thought he'd ask. "When are we coming back?"
