Please don't hate me...

-

You were awoken by someone jumping around on the bed. “Wake up mom! Wake up dad!” Your 6 year old daughter Jessica yelled. Spencer had been awake, giggling with her, as you groaned because it was too early for this. Even though it was already 8:30 a.m.

Spencer sensed your annoyance and picked up his daughter slightly, pulling her down next to the two of you. She laughed and giggled the whole time, just being happy that everyone was home.

“What do you want to do today sweetheart?” Spencer asked the little girl, as you snuggled into her side. Spencer doing the same, draping his arm across his two girls.

Jessica sat there, pretending to think of what she wanted to do today. Although secretly/ not so secretly she already knew what she wanted to do. Just then she yelled out “ZOO!” This wasn’t shocking to Spence or you, your daughter loved animals, and wanted to see them almost every second of every day.

“Then I guess we are going to the zoo today!” As Spencer spoke Jessica yelled out a yay. “How about you go start getting ready, then I’ll make us some pancakes. Then once you’ve finished we will head out to the zoo. That sound good?” She nodded her head vigorously, then ran towards her room to start getting ready.

Once the 6 year old ran out of the room, the doctor turned to you. A large smile plastered across his face. With your eyes still only slightly open, you reached out wrapping your arms around his neck. He held his arms tightly around the middle of your back, as he flipped the two of you from facing the bed, to facing the window. Your back facing the window, as you felt the heat of the sun hit it. Spencer cradled you in his arms, his head nuzzled in your neck.

“I love you” He whispered.

“I love you too.” You answered, sounding extremely tired. Without any warning your eyes started to shut, and sleep started to take over once again. The sound of your husband’s breathing lulling you to sleep.

Neither of you moved. Spencer layed there allowing you to sleep, knowing you needed it. Moments later a mop of hair that matched your own, could just barely be seen over the bed. Her father placed his finger to his lips, making sure she would stay quiet for you to stay asleep for as long as possible.

“Dad! You said you were going to make pancakes!” The little one whisper yelled at her dad, crossing her arms, adding a little pout to it. She can be a bit over dramatic sometimes.

“I needed to take care of your mom first.” Right on cue you moved a little in his arms, causing him to go completely still as to not wake you. “I’ll be in in a minute, promise.” She nodded running back into the living room, probably to play with some toys.

Spencer faced his attention back to you, giving your cheek a soft kiss. “Hey, babe. I have to go make breakfast, you coming?” You hummed in response. He smiled a little.

“Can you carry me? Please?” You asked him, still mostly asleep.

He laughed at your childness, but still he lifted you up carrying you into the living room with your legs tightly wrapped around his waist. As he went to go lay you on the couch, you refused to move from your place in his arms.

“Babe, I have to make breakfast.”

“Then take me to the kitchen and I’ll help you.” you said, still half asleep.

He sighed, bringing you into the kitchen with him, setting you down on the counter top. Jessica ran in quickly after, also wanting to help out. But instead you pulled her up onto your lap watching her dad get all the ingredients, before going to actually help.
