Prompt: You're burdened with being able to see everyone's future. Good or bad. The thing is you can do as you please with that knowledge, leave the person be, or make it your life's mission to help change it.

Here we go, another day where I get to see how rich someone is about to get. The day had barely even started, and I was already dreading it. It wasn't fair, I accidentally bump into someone and I am able to see everything they will become. Most of them tend to become millionaires or just have a great life in general, whilst I don't get to have that. Instead I get to feel jealous of that person for the rest of the day, because I'm not going anywhere like that.

"Hey (y/n)! You ready to go?" My best friend since birth Tessa called out. She also just so happened to be my roommate, and my only source of transportation, plus the only person that knows I can see peoples future.

Even she's got it good, not like I can tell her that. But seriously though, she's going to have 3 healthy kids, marry a nice guy and they're going to live in NYC. Tessa is gonna end up owning her own clothing line, ironic how she has always dreamed of doing that. It's just not fair, granted I can't see my own future, but nevertheless.

"Yeah, I'll be down in a second." I called back. Grabbing my bag, before running down the stairs.

Our usual morning ritual was we'd head to get coffee and breakfast at a fast food place, then she'd drop me off at work, before heading off to her own job. It was nice, some mornings it would be me, complaining about how good someone's got it, with her agreeing with me. If only she knew.

This morning we decided we wanted some Dunkin' Donuts (Sorry if you don't like that place), both of us craving some donuts. Plus the obvious coffee. Tessa chose to get a breakfast sandwich, and a donut, plus the large coffee. Knowing her she would still be hungry, even after eating a whole bunch of food.

After they brought out my coffee and donut, I went to go get a straw. Just my luck someone else was reaching for one at the same time, and our hands brushed against one an another. Flashes of pictures came across my vision. The women that stood in front of me was one of those who was going to have it all, big house, big family, nice jewelry, etc. Although after having it all she was going to have nothing, everyone she loved would leave her as they once already had.

It did kind of sadden me about how the over all outcome of her life would come to be, but there wasn't much I could do about it. I mean yeah I could do something, but personally I liked to help out when their whole life is going down hill. In fact that's how I met my good friend Tristan. His life was going in an endless cycle of downhill, I managed to become his friend and help him through some of it. Which is how his life is now only going up. Which is very good!

"You okay?" Tessa whispered into my ear, breaking away from the thoughts of the women and Tristan. I simply nodded, and she took it as an answer knowing full well that I'll tell her in the car. Which was something we always did when something little happened.

The second we sat down in the door, Tessa was eager to know what I saw, or what happened. Sometimes her reaction felt like a new episode of her favorite show just came out, and she was wondering what new things the characters were up to.

"Okay, so, there was a women in there that went to grab a straw the same time I did. Just my luck she accidentally brushes her hand against mine, and I see her whole life flash in front of my eyes." I started as Tessa started the car driving onto the road. Even with her eyes on the road, her attention was completely on me. "Not shocking how the next 10 years of her life would be amazing, nice things, money, happy family. But, it wasn't going to last forever, because one day everyone she loved was just going to leave her, which had already happened before. I guess I just got lost in thought about it, I kind of felt bad about it. However, I wasn't going to do anything about it, because you know me, I don't like to get involved unless it's necessary.  Like with what happened with Tristan."

I was out of breathe by the time I finished talking, it's a tendency I have, talking fast when talking about this stuff. Although Tessa was able to understand every word, no matter how fast I talked. Something that I was always grateful for, not knowing if it would be anymore understandable if repeated.

"Geez, that's a lot. I get it though, besides how many people have you seen with the exact same problem. If you ask me the number is just about a million. And you did the same thing you are doing now, and it didn't phase you after a day or two. So, don't feel bad, it happens." She made a very good point, I had done the same thing over and over again. "Anyways, we are here, just try not to think about it a whole bunch. Have a great day, Love you, see you later"

"Thanks, I'll do my best. Love you too, see you then" Then I got out of the car and headed into work.

*Time Skip*

It was now pretty late, almost the next day. Tessa was at home asleep, otherwise she wouldn't have let me go out this late, or at least not alone. But I couldn't get that women out of my head, or the three others that I bumped into today, there's were at least better than hers but not by much.

I was starring down at my feet to avoid making eye contact with others. Especially with my mind racing at the speed of light right now.

People passed by, some of them starred, some of them didn't, and some of them payed no mind at all. The only way I truly knew was by the feeling of their stares, and the passing of their feet in my prereferral vision.

Then it happened. Just my luck again, someone rams into me, causing both the other person and I to stumble backwards. Almost falling in the process. Pictures of sadness spread across my vision, horrible pictures. Whoever just bumped into you their life was at a current all time low and one that was going to last for a very long time.

Looking up the man in front of me had long hair that covered his face, although through the few gaps it was easy to see that he had been crying. I knew almost instantly, that I needed to know this man, that I needed to help him through this dark spot that he was going to be in.

"I'm so sorry I-I wasn't paying attention."

His words came out fast, and with a sob. As his face came more into view, his features came through more. Heavy bags under his eyes, red eyes from crying, he wasn't okay at all, and this whole interaction was clearly making him uncomfortable.

"I-I-I I gotta go." Then he rushed away from me.

I need to meet him again. I need to help him, make him feel better, help make his life better. But where to start?
