A/N: you know initially I thought I was done writing fanfics at all but here I am... Also spoiler warning if you haven't watched season 6 yet.
Summary: Spencer has been struggling to come to terms with Emily's death, so he comes to you for help.

It was nearly 11 o'clock at night when there was a light knock on your apartment door. You were reading a book in the living room, before you had gotten up to see who it was.

Looking through the peephole standing there was a tired and blood shot eyed Spencer. Immediately you opened the door to let him in. He didn't say anything he just walked in and went to sit on your couch in the living, taking a slight peek at the book you left on the coffee table.

"That's a good book, long but good." Was the first thing Spencer said to you.

"Eh I wouldn't fully agree too much. The part I'm at is kind of boring" you replied. The two of you let out a small chuckle, before going back to silence. "So Spence, why do you look so upset?" You said breaking the silence.

Spencer didn't reply. He just sat there staring at his hands, which he was fiddling with. You walked over and sat down next to him. It still took him a few moments to answer.

" I don't understand" you looked at him puzzled. "I don't understand how everyone is going on as though nothing happened. I mean I keep trying to, but the moment I forget about it, is also the moment I remember it."

"What is it that you're remembering?"

"That she's dead! That Emily is-is dead and there's nothing any of us could've done about it!" He shouted letting his tears fall more freely, dropping his head into your lap.

You were startled at his sudden outburst, and his actions of putting his head in your lap. However, you started to comfort him quickly, running your hands through his soft, short hair.

You decided to stay like that for a few minutes, mostly because you were at a lost of words for how to respond. No words that you could think of would really help him in this moment. Until some words came to mind.

"I know it's hard, and I know that getting through it without any guilt is hard. But we'll all make it through one way or another. I promise." You whispered to him, as his sobs slowly started to soften. "And trust me I know, remembering she's not here anymore sucks. It's easier though to sit there and remember her memory, then that she's not here. She wouldn't want us to drown ourselves in sorrow over her death."

Spencer laid there taking in your words. He knew there was truth in them, Emily wouldn't want this, but that doesn't make it any harder for him to accept.

"Thank you, y/n. It's still hard though..." Spencer said to you.

"I know, but it will eventually get easier."

"Ca-can I stay here for the night? I was really struggling being at my place alone.." you nodded your head to his question, and he smiled at your response.

"I promise you though, things will get better." You said to him. The rest of the night, which for Spencer didn't last too long, you had let him cuddle into your side as you watched movies. He fell asleep during the first one you guys started watching.
