(who's POV do u want the next chapter to be in? leme kno in the comments!)

"Heyy, Soph! Come on over!" a couple of ditzy girls cheered. I simply gave a sweet smile in response and headed over there. They must've really  forgotten me. And how much they bullied me in my childhood. But, whatever! After all, it was a new year, right? I have plenty of time to get payback on them later. (feisty much?) But for now, I needed to keep this 'cool girl' facade on. Not saying I'm not cool, but - ughh, nevermind. I just need to keep acting like one of those dumb cheerleaders with way-too-skimpy outfits. It's how I'll fit in. After all, you need to blend in with a cult to survive.

"Sooo! Who's the special guy? Keefe Sencen - right?" one of the girls asked me - I think her name was Ashley or something.

"What?" I asked, hoping they didn't notice my blush. They didn't, though that wasn't very surprising. After all those years of not noticing me, what would change that now? I suppose the not noticing was better than when they started bullying me, though. But that's a story for another time.

"Aw, come on, girlie. We're all friends here! And we know that Sencen boy's got his eye on you," Ashley continued. I noticed a certain brunette with bright teal eyes glaring at me after that comment.

"I don't know what you're talking about," I said earnestly. Because I didn't! ..Well, not really at least. "Who's got your eye, Ash?" I continued. I noticed her sneak a glance at a silver-banged Junior, Tam-something-or-other, I think, before answering, "Nobody."

And I couldn't help but observe that he kept eyeing the brunette - her best friend. Ouuuuch.

"Let's do a get-to-know each other circle! Everyone say your name and one thing about yourself!" another girl - Amara - squealed.

"I'll go first," the brunette volunteered, with a gleam in her eye that showed her intentions weren't to do anybody a favor, "I'm Biana Vacker, and I think brown eyed blondes are ugly witches."

Vacker, huh? Figures. Sister and brother alike, I suppose.

"Funny! I'm Sophie Foster, and I didn't think you'd be able to see with that big ego covering your vision." I shot back. The girls around us and some other kids who were all obviously eavesdropping made an appropriate ooh-ing sound.

"Whatever, dork! I'm beautiful  I have a right to a big ego!" Biana sputtered.

"Pretty sure all that 'beauty' could be wiped off with makeup remover, honey."

"Ugh! I don't have time for this! I gotta get my stuff for chemistry." she said, because she obviously didn't have a good comeback.

"Have fun at chemistry! Might be a good place for you to study the properties of manners." I said, plastering a fake smile on my face.

She simply huffed and sashayed away. Good. Didn't need brats like that  ruining my day. Even though she tried to save herself by walking away, I clearly had won. But before I could bask in my victory, I heard a commotion on the other side of the cafeteria.

"What are you doing, man?!" a certain blue eyed blonde called out as he blocked a punch aimed for his face.

"What are you doing? You don't belong with us anymore. You freakin' broke my sister's heart! Get out, now." a voice growled.

A voice that I'd hated ever since middle school. A voice that had turned my whole life upside down...

Fitz.
