Third Person Chapter

~ Ten years later ~

Keefe was nervous, yet excited at the same time. He couldn't believe Sophie and him had gone far enough in a relationship for him to propose. She was gonna say yes, wasn't she? Sure, she had been acting a bit, well, off  lately, but maybe that was supposed to happen. He checked his mirror to make sure The Hair was perfect - of course, it was. He stepped into his car and drove over to Foster's home. After taking a deep breath in, he walked up to her doorstep and knocked thrice. After a few minutes, he pushed on the door. It was open, strange. 

"Sophie? Hello?" he called. He saw a light on in her backyard. Maybe she was out planting flowers, or something? Keefe stepped into the backyard, eyes searching for the familiar, beautiful brown eyes. He finally found then. But..they weren't directed on him. They were on..Fitz? Wait. Fitz was on the floor. Down on one knee. Holding a sparkly teal ring. And..no. It couldn't be. She was..nodding. And crying, "Yes, yes! A million times yes!" He dropped the velvet box he had been holding. They both turned their attention to him. Sophie looked a little bit guilty, and Fitz had a mocking gleam in his eyes. 

"Sorry, not sorry, man," he laughed cruelly.

"No, I get it," Keefe spat bitterly, "School's most popular girl and richest boy. Not surprised. Life's just a horrible popularity contest after all."

They simply left him in the backyard, and shut the door. This time, Keefe couldn't hold back the tears or the sob in his throat. His heart was broken. And they didn't even care.
