~ A few minutes later, Keefe's at Candleshade ~
I looked around rapidly, making sure that the Snooty Senior - sorry, I meant my dad - and Ro were nowhere in sight. I sighed in relief, as I realized I was alone. What I did next I am not proud of.
"Woohoo!" I exclaimed passionately, "Best day ever!"
...I may have done some fist pumping, and some dancing, also...
My celebration was so rudely interrupted by a voice.
"Hey, Hunkyhair."
I jumped nearly a mile when I saw Ro's amused 'you are so gonna regret doing that in front of me' look.
"How much of that did you see? " I asked meekly, cheeks flaming.
"Way too much," she responded with a giggle - a giggle, "I assume the date-not-date went well, then?"
At the reminder of the date, I was too happy to be embarassed anymore.
"Yeah!" I exclaimed, "It was the bestest of the best-iest best!"
At any other time, I would have blushed at how childish I sounded.
"What happened?" she nearly squealed. I gave her a look, but continued.
"Okay, first, she started teasing me, and I must've looked kinda hurt, 'cause she leaned in and looked like she was about to kiss me, but then Grady came-"
"Hold up!" Ro interrupted, holding up a hand with fingernails painted neon pink, "She did what?!"
I sighed. "She leaned in and I think she was about to kiss me," I explained, slower this time.
Ro squealed that one fan girl squeal that all people - who aren't hideous single seniors - hear at some point in their life.
I roll my eyes. "Look, I gotta take a shower, can you leave now?"
I didn't really have to, but honestly, you'd say the same thing if you were in my position.
She gave me a look that told me she knew I was lying, but then walked out anyway.
I turned the hot water on just to prove to her that I wasn't lying...even though I was. A few seconds later, I heard footsteps and immediatly called out, "I'm getting in the shower, Ro! Give me some privacy!"
When I turned around, I faced a person that was definitely not Ro.
"I hope you can postpone your shower," they remarked.
"What are you doing here?" I spat, only having a slight idea.
With a cold smile, they responded, "Hello to you, too, son."
