VIBING WITH A MENTAL ILLNESS;

"And tell me again, why do I need to come along?" Y/n groaned, keeping his eyes on the road ahead. "And why am I driving?!"

"It's the least you could do since you moved out," Reki mumbled, fumbling with the weels on Langa's new board.

Let's backtrack a little.

Reki's mum had come into contact with Langa's mom since their children were now friends. It was an especially big deal for Langa's mother since he was usually antisocial.

Although they were in contact with each other, that didn't mean they knew everything about their sons. About S.

What they did know was that you were originally from Canada and moved to Japan. Ms. Kyan and Ms. Hasegawa got to talking about you and how you were now staying at Reki's house. They thought it may be a good idea for you to move in with the Hasegawa's, not permanently of course, but just a little more to get you and Langa "connected" as they said.

And this had all happened within a few days, all without the consent or discussion with the 3 high schoolers.

Now to get back to the matter at hand.

"Reki I told you, I found out the same time as you." He sighed, gripping the steering wheel a little tighter. He didn't want Reki mad, or for them to have an argument of any sort.

"But you said yes, didn't you!?" he exclaimed, a little louder than he wanted. Before the other male could start talking Reki continued. "I like having you around the house. You're always there when I come home, taking care of my mom and sisters when I can't. You're like my big brother."

He cringed at the thought of being a brother figure to his crush. Though, I can't say he was expecting any different.

But he kept a calm face, even if his body language didn't. "It wasn't my first choice either. But it's not like I'm leaving Japan. I'll only be a few minutes drive away. Speaking of driving, we're here." he announced, opening the door and following his best friend.

"Sorry, we took so long-!" Reki breathed, a bit out of breath from running.

Langa silently thanked the boy and kept a firm gaze on his new board.

"Using that for that for the first time on an actual challenge?" the 13-year old said. Y/n looked up, tearing his nervous gaze from Langa and onto said boy. "Power of friendship? How embarrassing."

"Yea I bet you wouldn't know anything about friendship." the h/c-nette said, his e/c orbs staring straight into Miya's green ones.

The boy scoffed leaving y/n with a smug smile on his face.

But apparently, that wasn't the end of it.

"I've decided what to wager." Miya started, a smile now tugging at his lips. "If I win...you'll become my dog!"
