Riley's POV
I stood in an exam room as 3 other doctors talked to Luke in the corner. I shook out of coldness and fear.
" Can you just tell me if you will do it or not i'm done with losing people today" I said coldly
" Riley, I want to be your guardian but I do want to do a paternity test first to make sure. " he said
I nodded saying it was okay
" Okay thank you these are my roommates and friends Micheal, Ashton, and Calum they all work here as well Micheal in therapy, Ashton is chief of general and Calum is chief of pediatric." he explained
" How did you know my mom" I asked
" We went to college together she moved randomly in the middle of the semester and ended things between us she never said why but now I guess we know."
" She told me you left" the guys stopped to looking at me
" No, I wouldn't have done that to you"
" I don't know what to believe" I said honestly
" i'll get a blood kit for the test" Calum said breaking the tension
" Blood?" I asked panicking
" Yes, are you afraid of needles?" Micheal asked me
" Terrified" I shook
" Don't worry you won't even feel anything." Micheal said attempting to calm me down
" That's what they all say" I said emotionless
" You have a skateboard in your backpack do you like to ride?" he asked trying to distract me
" Yeah I rode it from the county hospital"
" Oh my god that's like seven miles" Luke panicked
Calum came back immediately sending me into full panic mode. I held my head in my hands as they shook.
" Riley is it okay if I hug you?" Luke asked
I shook my head no. I didn't want any help from anyone I didn't know if I couldn't even know if he was telling the truth.
" I know you had a long day, and it's probably been hard for the last few months but everything's going to get better, we are going to take care of you. Just do this test, we will give you a quick check up and we can take you to our home. " I dried my tears on my sleeve and nodded.
" Okay, Riley I'm going to give you a quick relaxer to numb your arm a bit and give your less anxiety about everything. You will still be fully awake just tired." Micheal explained.
" No, please I don't want it" I argued
He looked at Luke.
" You have to try to stay calm, I won't give it to you" he said
Calum came over towards me and tied the band around my arm and taking my blood.
" I want to give you a quick check up while we wait for the results" Ashton said
" I pulled the chart from the other hospital for you and no major issues or surgeries which is good. I'm just going to check heart, lungs, eyes, ears, nose, weight and height. "
He did all of his tests on me which all came back fine, my temperature was a little low from my wet clothes but it would warm up soon.
" You should be all good Riley" he smiled at Luke and I.
Calum came back with the results in his hand " it's true your a dad" he said with a smile.
