Riley's POV
It was back to our normal routine and sadly a Monday afternoon. I was sitting in Chloe's office with Noah as I finished up some school work. We had completely committed to only using each other's middle names now.
Noah huffed in annoyance causing me to look up, he had his hand in his messy brown hair as his eyes focused on the paper in front of him. I put my laptop down and looked at him
" Do you need help?" I offered
He looked up and smiled nodding and moving to the right to allow me to move my chair next to his.
" What is it?" I asked looking over the paper
" Pythagorean theorem"
" that's easy! I can teach it to you." I stole the pen out of his hand and did the first problem trying to show him how to do it.
After a few practice problems he managed to get the concept, so I went back to my Science assignment. I noticed his eyes lingering on me as I wrote out the outline.
" Starring is creepy you know"
I met his eyes as he just smirked and went back to work. I had to write an argumentive essay presenting facts or information we felt strongly about and present during live class next week. Right when I was looking up some facts for it Noah grabbed my laptop right out of my hands
" We are taking a break" I groaned
" We've only been working for like an hour!"
" Exactly, let's go," he said grabbing my hand and leading us into the hallway
I smiled and let him drag me through the hospital until we reached the nurse's station literally bumping into Calum he turned around surprised to see us
" of course, its thing 1 and thing 2"
" Nice to see you too" I smiled before Noah led us away
" Do not cause trouble!" he yelled as we ran away
We finally stop running once we reached a door with a bunch of little kid drawings. I looked at him quizzingly before he opened the door leading me inside.
" Oh my god!" I stood in a smaller room with a few kids and their parents inside each section had a little fence and a cute dog in it. They all had little vests reading " Emotional Support Dog"
" Come on," he said heading into one of the tiny fenced-in areas
We both sat on the floor petting this adorable golden retriever named Bear. He ran around giving us lots of kisses and laying on my lap.
" Is he asleep?" I asked Noah
He leaned down looking at the dog before nodding and laughing. He snapped a cute selfie with me and Bear.
" Did you like the surprise"
" Bear is quite literally the cutest thing I've ever seen" I laughed hearing Bear's snores
Not too long after Luke walked up to us
" Really?"
" I've been all over this hospital looking for you both" he laughed
" it's your fault for not looking here first," I said
" I didn't think you knew this place existed," he said sitting down to pet bear
" I showed her" Noah admitted
" Sorry guys, we are closing for today but feel free to come back tomorrow!" A lady said cleaning up
We said our goodbyes to Bear and all walked back towards Chole and the guy's offices.
" I'll meet you by the car Riles, I gotta pick up this paperwork," Luke said kissing my forehead and leaving once I promised I wouldn't take forever to get to the car.
Chole walked into her office while I was putting my things away. She looked at us and smiled brightly kissing the top of Noah's forehead.
" Wow, this is a new scene my son doing his homework without me asking five hundred times! It must be a miracle. Riley, you are welcome anytime." she joked around
Noah just scuffed and rolled his eyes.
" Thank you" I laughed
" I should probably get going nice to see you, Chloe. Text me if you need any more help, Noah." I smiled and left after they returned my goodbyes.
