"Wake up wake up wake up!" Ashton shook my body and I woke up with a jolt, sitting up too fast and making my head spin.

"What the fuck Ashton?" I whined sleepily. I'd actually had the best nights sleep that I'd gotten in this place last night, thanks to Ashton subconsciously playing with my hair and mumbling the entire night, but he was a comfy pillow to sleep on.

"We have to go do some group art painting shit, I don't know, did you not hear the guards wake us up just now?" Ashton said grumpily and I whined again as Ashton pulled me out of bed, "c'mon blondie don't be difficult, you're gonna get in trouble if you don't go."

"Okay, okay, fine," I mumbled, climbing down from my bunk and sleepily waiting by the door with Ashton for the guards to force us to paint this early in the morning. I heard the familiar sound of the metal door sliding back, setting my teeth on edge, and the guard didn't hesitate to handcuff Ashton and I together- not that I minded being handcuffed to an extremely attractive guy. What?

"Group activity sessions are one hour. Don't try anything or there will be consequences," the guard repeated to us monotonously as if he'd said it too much within his job. Then again, he probably had.

Depressing corridor number one rolled past as we walked quickly down the rows of prison cells, me wincing when a drop of water landed down my neck, making me shiver. When we finally reached the group activities room I wasn't surprised to see that it was just like every other room in Harvershem- dank, depressing, lifeless. There was a minimalist stash of poster paints on the table in the middle and broken easels, creating a vivid image of a place that had once been used for curing or helping people deal with mental illnesses but now left nothing but a broken, empty soul of that vision.

"Go forth, child, create a masterpiece," Ashton giggled, handing me a paint brush. The other patients were arriving at this time too, so I decided that painting would be a good way to avoid being talked to. I grabbed the blue, orange, red and yellow paint and began painting blue over half the paper as the other patients began painting too.

"What'cha painting?" a girl's voice sounded from the left of me and I jumped at the sudden noise nearby. I looked round to see Karina smiling at me as she painted the beginnings of... a person?

"I um... I don't know yet," I mumbled, adding more paint to the paper.

"I'm painting you," she smiled, and then she turned her attention to her painting. Before I could say anything else I felt something cold hit my cheek and I turned round to see Ashton with bright green paint all over his hands, poking me in the face.

"Hey! Paint the paper not me," I giggled, wiping some blue paint on his nose.

"Karina is painting you, so I thought I'd paint you as well," Ashton laughed at his own joke but I shut him up by flicking the blue stuff at him, getting it all over his jumpsuit, "you'd better be glad we get to shower next, blondie." Ashton chuckled, giggling when I squealed at the fact he had left a huge green hand print on my face.

"You have huge hands," I stated, jumping backwards to make sure he didn't get me again.

"They come in handy for when-" Ashton started.

"Irwin and the new kid, will you get some more paper from the cupboard for me, please?" the woman organising the group session spoke, interrupting Ashton's (probably dirty) remark, and Ashton nodded, not bothering to wipe his hands as I followed him to the cupboard. Ashton smirked at me as he turned the light on, resting his hands on my hips and pushing me against the wall, his hands coming up to cup my face-

"Got'cha!" Ashton giggled, laughing even harder when he saw that he'd got paint all over my face.

"I swear to God!" I giggled along with him, but then I tripped over something and landed right on top of Ashton. It was a pretty compromising position seeings though when I sat up, I was straddling him, "I'm so sorry." I blushed, moving to get off of him but he grabbed my hips and kept me still, his fingers tracing up my chest until they reached my lips, Ashton running his thumb over my bottom lip as my heart beat increased.

"W-we should get that paper," I mumbled, climbing off of the attractive boy and stumbling as I found the paper, handing it to Ashton who was still lying on the floor.

"You annoy me, blondie," Ashton mumbled, standing up with a groan and walking out of the cupboard, leaving me to struggle with the bulk of the paper while he carried barely any of it. I followed suit and closed the cupboard door after me as I left, dumping the paper on the table and sighing as I carried on painting a shitty sunset with a pouty face.

"Is it a sunset?" Karina asked, nudging my arm and I nodded subtly, coughing awkwardly, "I finished my painting of you."

"Oh wow that's actually really good," I blurted as I saw the slightly abstract painting of me on her paper.

"Thanks," she grinned and as I was about to say something else, the guards told us it was time to shower and chained Ashton and I together again, dragging us off to the tiny showers with the other men and boys.
