When I woke up the first thing I realised was how much I appreciated being able to breathe again. The second thing was that my head was pounding and my lungs and chest ached and I didn't know where I was. I opened my eyes to find myself in a large room with nothing but a filing cabinet and a desk, and sat at the desk was an older woman who must've been in her mid-50s, sat there staring at me. I looked to my left and saw Ashton, his jumpsuit also round his waist, sleepily rubbing his eyes as if he'd just woken up as I watched him look around the room, his eyes landing on me.
"Oh my god, your neck-" Ashton started but he was cut off by the woman sat at the desk.
"So you care about this boy?" she snapped at Ashton and Ashton winced.
"Well, uh..." he stuttered.
"Answer me," she snapped.
"No," Ashton blurted and the woman chuckled to herself.
"Oh, so you wouldn't care if I did this?" she said, clearly amused, as she walked over to the filing cabinet and opened it. My jaw dropped and I gasped as I saw what was in it. Whips. Lots of them. The woman carefully selected one and walked over to me slowly, my hands shaking nervously.
"Please don't," I blurted as she raised the whip.
"No, no, don't you dare hurt him," Ashton blurted, trying to stand up, later realising that the handcuffs around his wrists were connected to the floor, making movement impossible.
"Aha!" the woman exclaimed excitedly, lowing the whip, "so you do care about him." she stated with an evil sounding chuckle.
"Please don't hurt him," Ashton begged, his eyes boring into the woman.
"Oh but Ashton," she paused, "the worst punishment I can give you is making you watch while I hurt him." she swung round and pointed at me and Ashton's face drained of colour.
"No, no," Ashton begged, "please don't." Ashton shut his eyes for a moment and then opened them as she raised the whip. "No!" Ashton screamed as it connected with my back, a crack sounding around the room, a tiny, minuscule moment before the pain set in. A blinding pain shot through my body and I let out a strangled scream.
"Please," I sobbed as she raised the whip again.
"No, no, that's too far, not again," Ashton shouted desperately and the whip connected with my skin again and I screamed at the excruciating agony as my body shook with pained sobs, "stop!" Ashton shouted, his voice cracking in desperation.
"A-Ash-" I stuttered out, my vision going hazy at the pain.
"I'd rather die than see you hurt him," Ashton blurted, looking at the woman with pleading eyes. She lowered the whip and chuckled, wandering over to Ashton.
"Oh really?" she said with a smug smile on her lips.
"You can do anything to me but don't hurt him," Ashton said, his voice shaky.
"Ashton it's okay, I can take it-" I started.
"No, I'm not seeing you get hurt again, I-" Ashton was cut off by his own cry of pain as the whip came down on his back, the crack sound making me wince and let out a sob.
"Aw isn't this cute," the woman hummed, "you both care about each other." She brought the whip down on Ashton's back again and I sobbed once more, watching him in pain like that hurt me even more than when I was being physically harmed.
"Please stop," I begged.
"Alright, you can go," she snapped her fingers and our guard came in, chaining us to one another quickly as if he was scared of her.
"Ma'am, should I put them in separate cells?" the guard asked nervously and Ashton and I looked at one another in worry.
"No, I want them together," she snapped, "and take out their security camera."
What?
"O-okay," the guard frowned and yanked at our chains, Ashton and I stumbling forward, my boyfriend's arms reaching out to catch me.
"Well, go then!" the woman spat and the guard pulled us out of the room.
