Pacing around my cell for at least half an hour until I felt dizzy probably wasn't the best solution to the problem. I had waited and waited and Ashton still hadn't come back. I was still shaking and crying half an hour later. It made me realise how dependant I was on the curly haired boy and it scared me a lot.

Then the metal door slid back.

Ashton staggered into the cell, his breathing ragged, tears stained down his cheeks and his expression set to stern.

"Oh my god, Ashton what did they do to you?" I cried, hurrying over to the injured boy and letting him lie down with his head in my lap. I winced when I saw the blood stains on his back, bleeding through the orange fabric and making me angry, "I will kill whoever did this. I swear to god, I- I'm so sorry, Ash."

"I'm o-okay," he whispered tiredly, his voice low and gravelly and hoarse as if he'd been screaming which he probably had.

"You're okay now, I'm here Ashy," I mumbled, stroking his hair and feeling his head get heavier in my lap, "wait, wait, you've got to let the um.. the injuries get some air, Ash take this off." I said, gently unzipping his jumpsuit.

"No, I don't want you to see," the Curley haired boy mumbled, sitting upright.

"Ashton, you have to," I pleaded, kissing his forehead.

"No," he sobbed defeatedly, my heart breaking in two, "fine." he unzipped his jumpsuit and let it pool round his waist, lying back down so his head was in my lap. I stroked his hair, trying not to cry at the sight of the many many bleeding stripes of red across his back.

"You're okay now," I whispered, and Ashton's body soon went limp, showing that he was asleep.

"M- Michael," Ashton muttered and I jumped a little, "Michael no, n- I'm sorry Mikey- m-"

Ashton fidgeted, grabbing onto my leg in his sleep and making me wince.

"Mikey," Ashton sobbed and it made my heart ache.

"Ashton? Ash, wake up," I said, gently shaking him and making him open his eyes with a sharp inhalation of breath, "s- sorry, I know you're not supposed to wake up people when they're dreaming but-"
Ashton cut me off by cupping my face and smashing his lips onto mine, sitting up and pulling me into his lap.

"Mm-" Ashton hummed, pulling away and resting his forehead on mine as his eyes glossed over, his hands shaking as he laced our fingers together.

"What's wrong?" I whispered, Ashton's bare chest moving up and down as he levelled his breathing out.

"I miss him," Ashton said, his voice faint and barely audible, "I- I- God, I loved him so much."

"It's not your fault," I mumbled.

"I killed him," Ashton said bluntly, "he died because of me."

"How- how did you..." I trailed off, not sure if I actually wanted to know.

"We were driving... a-and then I had one of my... episodes... and the- the voices told me to crash the car a-and I didn't even realise b-but the next thing I knew the car had crashed and he was gone, I-" Ashton sobbed, burying his head in my chest.

"Oh Ashton," I whispered, kissing his head.

Neither of us should be in here.
