Greece 3 p.m.
Grayson POV -"Oh, shit!" Ethan yells. "I forgot my phone in our hotelroom." He adds as we all stop in the hotel lobby. After the show this evening Shawn flies to Italy for the next part of his tour and y/n wants to go with him. First of all, because that's her job, but also because she's so thankful for Shawn taking care of her. Ethan is going to Italy as well, ofcourse. He is probably never gonna leave y/n's side ever again. And the rest of us decided to tag along. We're here in Europe now anyway. So let's make the best of it, while we can. "You guys head to the beach! I'll grab my phone and meet you there in a couple of minutes." Ethan yells as he runs up to the elevator.
"Well, let's go!" Kian says as he makes way towards the terrace. He's talking to y/n and I can see a weight has lifted from his shoulders ever since we found her. It makes me smile, when I realize how much Kian actually cares about her. He's a really good friend. I follow them outside and look over my shoulder to see Ava walking behind me. Hiding behind her sunglasses. She's quiet ever since she introduced herself to y/n this morning. And I'm still regretting telling her she's touchy. Like I thought, she stopped tapping my arm and grabbing my shoulder, like she'd normally do when we're making conversation.
In an attempt to get the bubbly Ava back, I slow down my pace. When she walks up next to me, I build up all the courage and reach out for her hand. My palm wraps around hers and I close my fingers around the back of her hand. She doesn't pull away, but looks up at my face, as we keep walking over the terrace. "Are you okay?" I ask Ava. She nods yes, but me not being able to see her eyes, am not reassured by that nod. I wish she would take off those sunglasses, so I can read her face. "Are you sure?" I push her. "You've been very quiet since this morning." I add. A faint smile appears on her face as we turn right and head down a small path, leading towards the beach. "I'm okay, Grayson! Really." She says as we're still holding hands.
I never thought it would feel so good to just hold her hand. So normal, like her hand belongs in mine. I never even thought about holding her hand, until I shot myself in the foot by making Ava aware of her touchy habit.
I'm just realizing where we are walking when I hear Kian yell y/n's name. I look up at them, a little further down the path and I see Kian supporting y/n. It looks like she's about to collapse. Within a heartbeat I let go of Ava's hand and sprint towards Kian and y/n. We didn't think this through!!! Why did we take this path towards the beach? And I immediately visualise Mike, choking out y/n at this exact spot. I pick up y/n as soon as I get to her and see the panic in Kian's eyes. With y/n in my arms I run down the path until we reach the beach.
I keep walking and walking with a panting y/n in my arms. She's crying and I hear a sob every now and then when she can get enough air in her lungs. My heart is pounding fast and I look back over my shoulder, hoping to see Ethan. He knows what to do, how to calm her down. I have never been able to do anything but fuel the fire. Ethan is nowhere to be seen. I only see a pale white Kian and Ava. Ava took her sunglasses off and runs up to me. Her eyes focused on y/n. "Sit her down!" She says confident but calm as she points towards one of the deckchairs. I kneel down and gently put y/n down. She's hyperventilating and tears fall down from her closed eyes. I get up, put my hands in my hair and start pacing. I'm completely lost and don't know what to do.
Ava sits down on her knees in front of y/n. She looks at me over her shoulder and in the same calm but firm tone she instructs me to call Ethan. I quickly grab my phone and with shaking hands dial Ethan's number. He better be near his phone now, is what I think. It seems like an eternity before Ethan answers his phone. "Gray?" He says calmly, unaware of what's going on right in front of my eyes. "E!" I yell, not being able to reciprocate his calm tone. "Y/n is not doing good!" I breathe. "What? Where are you?" He now says with a raised and panic infused voice. "The beach!" I answer and Ethan hangs up immediately. I lower the phone from my ear and keep pacing back and forth, when I see Ava talking to y/n.
