It was around noon the next day when Hae-sik came over to meet Jungkook in the northern province.

"Fancy seeing you here Haei-sik. Why did you come here?" Jungkook asked, surprised beyond imagination. The last person he expected to see here was Hae-sik.

"I decided to take over the northern province, you can go back to the village and prepare to go to the capital. You did a fine job here. I am impressed," Hae-sik told.

"I thought someone else will be here. Don't you need to take care of more important things?"

"I have some unfinished business here," Hae-sik told and Jungkook nodded his head, not questioning further because the other man's tone indicated that his unfinished business was a personal matter.

"Then before I leave, I need to tell you something in private," Jungkook told gravely. Both of them went into a more closed room.

"I am pretty sure you didnt expect to see the mountains here or anything on your way here,"

"Yes, that surprised me. Thank god there was another route here that I used to come here. Those mountains would've killed me," Hae-sik told. Jungkook raised his eyebrows, 'another route' he thought with a questioning expression.

"Well, Chanmin wanted it this way. He erased these mountains from the map to lure his enemies here so they can die of a natural cause especially since the northern province is near our enemy kingdoms. The mountains you faced on the way here are nothing, the one closer to the border is even more harsher. Even if they made it past the mountains they wouldn't survive the soldier's attack. We had underestimated the number of people that would be guarding this place.

So after I had taken over this province, I did some investigation and things aren't what they seem to be," Jungkoook told.

"What do you mean?"

"This place is where the kingdom originated from. That means most of the kingdom's history is here. Antiques, weapons, gold, everything," Jungkook told. Hae-sik looked at him with a surprised expression.

"Then it is good we took over this province. It must be more valuable to Chanmin than to us. I'll look into it," Have-sik told, rubbing his chin with a thoughtful expression and Jungkook nodded his head.

"Great. I'll leave after I finish packing then," Jungkook told before leaving. He took one of the backpacks and stuffed apples and packs of water in it because he really had nothing to pack. He had come here almost empty-handed except for a bag of snacks and some weapons. He couldn't take a bath because he didn't have any spare clothes and didn't want to use any of the dead soldier's clothes. It was like eating a pot full of wasabi for him.

Jungkook bid a quick goodbye to Hae-sik before leaving the province. Mounting on his horse, he started his journey back to the village. But this time the journey was more dangerous. Looks like his dramatic beating to the ground not only summoned an avalanche on the granary but also on the path that he was supposed to tread on. Thank God it was only till his knees.

Jungkook got down from his horse and started to trudge through the snow, one hand on the horse's reign.

"That was one stupid move I made," Jungkook swore out. He could feel his legs become number and number. This was not a good sign at all, especially since he had just started to walk through this snow a couple of minutes ago and there was so much more to cover. Snow started to fall down and the wind moaned. Jungkook looked at the sky in worry. it looked like that it was going to rain soon. As if the weather couldn't get any worse.

By the time jungkook reached the end of the range, he was exhausted. Jungkook collapsed on the ground. He couldn't feel his body and he was out of breath. Blood was running from his nose. His skin was pale and slightly blue, lips were cracked and bleeding and his legs felt like as if it was not part of his body.

With shaky legs he got up and mounted upon his horse that looked a bit better than him. Jungkook looked at the map and realised that there was a short cut that would enable him to reach the village in half an hour instead of 10 hours. Looks like on his way to the northern province he had taken the longest route through land and shortest through the mountains. And on his way back, he took the longest route through the mountains. That was why he was so burnt out.

Within fifteen minutes, the village was well within his sight. Jungkook sighed in relief. He wasn't able to sit up straight on his horse due to the burn out so he laid down on the horse. He wiped the blood off his lips and lazily slapped his horse's flank.

All of a sudden he felt something pierce his side. Jungkook fell off the horse with a strangled cry. There was a blue arrow sticking out of his side and a man in black standing a couple of feet away from him, a bow tucked safely in its a case and a sword in his head.

"Chanmin told that you would be a tough bird to kill but you are just a wounded puppy," the man sneered out.

"And which asshole of chanmin's should you be?" Jungkook asked in a sassy voice despite the blood pouring from the wound and the excruciating pain.

"I am a gift, a skilled assassin here to finish you off," the man told as he tilted Jungkook's head with sword. He lifted his sword, aiming at Jungkook's throat and swung it. In a flash, Jungkook drew out his sword that was hanging on his belt and both the swords clashed mid-air. He willed the ground between both of them to crack and pieces of stone hit the assassin. Jungkook's sword arm dropped to the ground. He gasped in pain as he got up from the ground. Blood was pooling around his legs.

The assassin who had recovered quite fast struck back at Jungkook and the boy reeled back with a deep cut on his arm. 'That would be needing stitches later' Jungkook thought. He switched his sword to his left hand and slashed back at the assassin.

"You're good, I'll give you that. No one had laid a finger on me for the past 5 decades," the man told with a smirk as he felt the cut on his torso. Both their swords met mid-air again and a nasty knife-play broke out. Jungkook's vision started to blur as he randomly threw his left arm everywhere, managing to harm the assassin by luck a couple of times.

Both of them broke away for a second to catch their breath. The assassin by now had a nasty scar on his leg which made him limp, couple of cuts on his arm and the long hurt on his torso. Jungkook on the other hand, since he was rocking everywhere in a random motion, the assassin barely could lay the sword on him. Apart from that he has a gash on his arm and chest, and of course the arrow wound on his side.

Jungkook stared at the assassin with a dominant gaze.

"I'll give you one minute to run, if you don't I assure you that I will kill you," Jungkook told in a grave voice, seriousness evident on his face.

"And why should I run when I can kill you?" He asked in mock. Jungkook just tilted his head and summoned huge rocks from the ground before crashing it over the assassin.

"That was why, asshole," Jungkook told with gritted teeth. He tried to walk away but fell down. Touching the side of his body, he could feel the blood steadily running down.

"HELP!" Jungkook yelled in hope that someone might hear him but he never knew if someone did because he lost consciousness.
