Part 3
Yoongi collapsed as a blinding pain bloomed in his heart like a flower. Hoseok who had seen the elder writhing on the ground like a fish out of water, immediately went to his aid.
"You felt it, didn't you?" Yoongi asked from the ground, tears spilling out of his eyes.
"I felt it. He is dead, isn't he." It sounded more like a statement rather than a question. Hoseok held the cloth above his heart as he looked towards the palace. "Get up, we have to finish the battle."
Yoongi stood up despite the blinding pain in his heart and charged through the crowd with a renewed energy. Thanks to the mysterious beings, the war seemed to be looking up to them. Most of the zombie were dead at their feet and Jeonghan was looking less confident. Taehyung took over the honour of finishing the last of them. Finally they could have a clearer count of the number of people they had left with them and it was disappointing. At most they had half the army they had brought along with them.
"When are you losers going to give up?" Jeonghan asked out of irritation.
"You calling us losers? That's cute and childish," Yoongi told. Jin came up behind him and transformed back into his human form. He looked between their small number of soldiers and Jeonghan's raging number.
"Looks like conversation is useless. Soldiers ready your arm-" Jeonghan was rudely interrupted by Taehyung.
"According to the law...Our commander can challenge you into a duel and the winner claims the war. No other casualties, just the life of one leader," Taehyung told.
"Now why would I do that when I can take war with just the snap of my fingers?" Jeonghan asked with the tilt of his head.
"Well, you haven't really proven your worth yet. I bet in the eyes of many, you are just an illegitimate son, the king's whore and a bitch. Defeating our commander will probably bring you some honour and acceptance among the people. In the end of the day, the kingdom is based on the ruler and its people. Or..." Taehyung trailed of with a little smirk and then a chuckle. ".. are you scared that you might lose."
Rage flashed against Jeonghan's face and Taehyung clapped his hands in glee as he had accomplished what he wanted to do. The only thing left is for Namjoon to show up any minute now. Hopefully.
"Convincing but where is your commander? All I see are his dogs," Jeonghan told as he got off from his horse. He made a dismissive hand gesture and the army lowered their weapons down.
"I'm here," All of them turned their heads towards Namjoon who walked in with a broken bottle in his hands. There were a bloody cut on his back and smaller ones decorating his hands.
"Then let's make it official. I, Jeonghan, the prince and son of this kingdom challenge Kim Namjoon. The winner will... win the war and the loser.." Jeonghan told with a sly smile as he rotated the ring around his hand once," will be dead."
"I accept. Let's make it a bit traditional and fight with our claws," Namjoon told, discarding his sword, broken bottle and belt on the ground as Jeonghan did the same. Both of them transformed into wolves and without wasting time, they went for each other's throat.
The other members decided that they couldn't bear seeing the results of the duel, turned their heads around. Taehyung on the other hand decided to stay tuned as he had initiated this duel so it felt like as if he would be responsible for Namjoon's death if he lost.
Namjoon scratched Jeongan stomach and pinned him down on the ground, digging his claws into his neck. The other man retaliated by throwing Namjoon off and leaving a bloody scratch near his nose. Both of them wrestled each other, claws occasionaly 'slipping' and hurting the other. It was quite obvious that Jeonghan was not as strong as Namjoon. It was understandable as the bastard had his way with words and Namjoon could do both words and brute force.
