There were only two ways to differentiate the classes of wolves. One was more natural than other- a scent. Each class had a very distinct scent that they usually concealed with scent blockers except for Alphas who were usually proud of who they were. It was worse during ruts when the scent would go out of hand and have like a property that increases attraction and sexual appeal. Jungkook himself has been applying scent blockers even though he didn't have the typical omega scent. The other way to identify was by a mark on their wrist administered by the mid-wife after birth. Alphas had a gold line; betas had a blue line, and omegas had a red line. The only55 way to remove the line was with a certain herb that only the high priest of the lands had access to, not even the king knew of its whereabouts. Yoongi, Hoseok, everyone had a small gold line on their wrist and Jungkook had none so he often applied a dark red liquid that his parents had given him before they had passed away. The only way Jungkook new that he was an omega was because his parents kept on telling him that he was an omega. But, now, since he was under the guise of a Beta, he would have to make a quick stop before he disappeared into the mountains.

(One month later)

A storm was brewing at the top of one of the tallest snow-clad mountains in the range. Dark clouds gathered around the peak, thunder boomed, echoing in the valleys and lightning struck areas in a random pattern. Jet-black rocks tumbled down slopes and hit neighboring mountains, sending more shards splattering everywhere. The wind howled, cutting through the ice-cold atmosphere that froze everything in its territory.

In all this chaos there was a tunnel in which Jungkook hid in, seeking shelter from the monstrosities occurring outside. For one month he had been undergoing the worst time of his life from having to go for days without starving if he couldn't catch food, doing his bathroom business without any supplies, sleeping for 2-3 hours a day so he doesn't get caught by wild animals and carrying the guilt of not telling Yugyeom of his plans or life in general. The only thing that was in abundance was water.

Jungkook had become different. He sported a rather unflattering stubble; his eyes were bleary red and tired with dark eye bags. He was still quite slender but all the hunting and exercise he had to carry out got him a little bit of lean muscle. Jungkook's hair had become shaggy while the tips often brushed his shoulder. It was matted with sticks, small stones and dirt. There were no more clothes left in bags except for what he wore and no more food in his bag either hence he had discarded of it. However, being in the wild also had its benefits. For the first time, despite the imposing and dangerous situation around him, he felt free. He didn't wake up in fear of the men or was beaten to pulp everyday. With his soul liberated and mind clear, he finally felt alive. But the ghosts of his past still did haunt at random times. Whether it was his parents or his ex-housemates, it came to him as night terrors, often waking him up in the middle of the night, covered in sweat and shivering.

The cold wasn't that much of a problem because his body adapted quite fast but with the hunger, he had to get out of this mountain range as soon as possible. He had to find a village and settle down.

There was a river that he wasn't too far away from that would take him to the nearest village away from the main empire. It wasn't that big of a village but its people were kind and accommodating to travelers and those who reside within its borders. Maybe Jungkook could find refuge over there.

The rain had started to subside and so the storm. Jungkook stepped out and started to make his way to the river. It was quite hard to do so when he was knee-deep in snow and freshly made ice. As he neared the river, there was a fallen tree that could be made into a log that could carry him. Grabbing one of the branches, he put his legs on the piece of branch that he wanted and broke it off from the tree.

Taking in a deep breath, he plunged into the freezing cold waters with the log in his arms. For a second, he thought that he wouldn't resurface as the fast currents drowned him, scraping his body against pointy rocks. Water started to fill in his lungs and he desperately kicked his legs to swim up to the surface. With one final kick, he broke the surface of the water, gasping for breath. His tried to gulp in as much as air as possible like a puffer fish on land. Jungkook readjusted himself on the leg, feeling quite cold as he was swimming in freezing water and the air around him was even colder.

Just as he was about to relax a bit and let the current carry him away to his destination, a tree came out from nowhere and hit him on the hand and he blacked out.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Jungkook groaned in pain, immediately flopping onto his stomach and puking out the water that was lodged in his throat. His clothes were soaking wet and frozen in place, face covered in sand and one of his almost-worn-down shoes were missing. The blood on his forehead was dried up, meaning that he had been lying down here for a while. Depleted of any strength, Jungkook just laid on the ground, hoping that this would be the end of his life. It seemed like as if every time he felt hopeless, he wished that he was on the brink of death or already dead.

"Oh my God! Are you ok, sir?" A deep, rich voice with a hint of femininity sounded above him. It was one of those voices that could just lull you to sleep with even one word.

"I think he is dead," this voice was even deeper but more masculine. Jungkook slowly opened his eyes, squinting because he wasn't used to the brightness of the sun that shined overhead. There were two people standing over him- a male and a female. The female was clearly an alpha from the she carried herself with pride and a touch of ego. She had cat-like eyes and tawny brown hair, an oval shaped face with a sharp jawline that had a tinge of softness. She was as pale as the snow that he had been treading through for the past month and her lips were chapped. With every moment that she made, Jungkook could see taut muscles ripple underneath her skin- it was kind of attractive and scary. Despite the grandeur of her physical appearance, she had an aura that could fool anyone into trusting her with all their secrets.

The male on the other hand was slightly shorter but looked like a fighter, nonetheless. He was probably a soldier, a beta from the scars and nicks that he bore on his toned arms and on his eyebrow. He looked a lot more approachable than the female with soft, bouncy sandy blonde hair, a crooked smile and crinkles around his eyes. The sun shining down upon him gave him a halo, making his tan skin gold and it really brought out his golden-brown eye color.

One looked like Hercules and the other looked like the upgraded version of the Snow Queen. Jungkook just blinked at them in confusion as a fever took over, raising his body temperature and boiling the skin on his forehead. Everything slowly started to go black again and the last thing he remembered seeing was the female bending down and putting her hands around him.
