The morning sunlight seeped into the hospital rooms, lighting the plain white room with a golden glow. Jungkook's leg was stitched up and bounded in an even whiter bandage that had a tiny spot of plot. The doctor paced around the room with a sheet of paper attached to a bark of a tree. A strange guy who he had never seen before and come in with Jungkook and his bleeding leg that was going from a trickle to a waterfall of blood, staining the cement floor. Three hours later, the strange man had disappeared, and the doctor was left with an unconscious boy and a huge medical bill which he, as usual, would take care of.

A loud yawn shook him out of his reverie, and he immediately ditched whatever he was thinking before and rushed to his patient's bedside. The doctor clasped Jungkook's hand in his own, hoping that his patient would wake up like a normal being in normal health. This was the first time he had done a surgery like that with the new tools that were shipped from a foreign country that was trying to get ahead in medicine to attain immortality or some shit like that.

"Fuck off, Yugyeom," Jungkook murmured in a drawled-out voice as he shook the doctor's hand away from his. He felt like he was wrongly directing his anger and annoyance on a guy who had done nothing but care for him since he was a kid. But his life was fucked up and he just wanted it to end, and he did kind of hope that the pain that he had undergone yesterday would have killed him off. Unfortunately for him, God's grace didn't exist with giving him a normal family, but it did exist when he was living in pain and torture. It all seemed like one sick joke.

"Sorry-," Yugyeom apologized but was cut off when Jungkook grabbed his arm.

"I'm the one who should be apologizing. I was rude. I'm sorry," Jungkook said as he slowly regained his wits. Yugyeom was his best friend since they both were 14 years old. They met at the hospital was Yugyeom was waiting for his father, the town's doctor, to finish with the first C-section and Jungkook had run away from his house, full of bruises and a broken toe. The members had him locked in a room and refused to give medical attention that Jungkook desperately needed because, around that time, they just wanted Jungkook to die. Because of this, Jungkook waited till everyone was asleep before jumping down from the window and breaking his toe on a sharp rod. From there, he walked almost a mile before reaching the hospital that looked pretty dead because of the lack of staff. Yugyeom immediately spotted him and offered Jungkook help to put him in a waiting room so that his father could tend to him. Ridden with desperation, pain and a very long waiting time, Yugyeom used whatever knowledge he had on how to dress up wounds and fix broken bones and tried to bandage his wounds. Since then, Jungkook became Yugyeom's regular patient and Yugyeom's father often supervised so nothing goes wrong. Slowly and surely enough, they also became friends.

"It's ok. So, everything looks good but you don't have to leave yet. This place is always open for you, and you know that. My father sees you as his son and I love you. You'll never be an inconvenience."

"Love you too, bro but I got stuff to do," Jungkook said as he got up from the bed. Jungkook never  Yugyeom about what happens at the house, about the abuse even though he was sure that Yugyeom was suspecting something but was keeping quiet because he was nice and didn't like poking his nose in other people's business.

"You and your stuff," Yugyeom mumbled in slight annoyance. "Ok, go. But come back for your medication and regular check-ups. I'll kill you personally if your wound gets infected."

"Ok. Bye," Jungkook stole the crutches that were leaning against the wall and made way for his house. He promised himself that this would be the last time he would voluntarily go back to that damn house. He was going to run away, and he was never ever going to found out by these people again. But for that, he would have to carefully craft a plan.

His hand hovered above the door handle, fearing what waits for him on the other side. He slowly opened the door and was met with pitch darkness. He knew it that something sinister was lurking under this cover. The lights flicked on and there was Hoseok with murderous rage. His eyes were red, and his cheeks were flushed from the alcohol. Jungkook knew it was not going to end well, it never ended well.

"Wait, befo-," Jungkook gasped for breath as Hoseok landed a blow on his chest, knocking him down to the fall. Years of malnutrition and starvation had rendered Jungkook useless in combat, letting the other men easily do whatever they wanted to do.

With a single hand, Hoseok picked Jungkook up and slammed him against the wall and punched his face. Blood spewed from the beater boy's mouth as he slowly started to see dark spots.

"You think you can do whatever you want because you are 18 and an adult," Hoseok taunted as threw Jungkook on the glass table, shattering the glass and sending shards in every direction. A few of them protruded from Jungkook's back. At this point, he was choking and gasping for air. It was like he was stuck underwater, chest depleted of any oxygen and struggling to get to the surface.

"Leave at night, come back in the morning and fuck up everyone's lives. Do you know what you are doing to everyone's' reputation, you fucking burden. People see and they know, and they spread rumors that we are imprisoning a boy," Hoseok scoffed as if the situation was impossibly untrue even though reality was even worse.

"You know what's funny?  You can leave anytime and never come back. No one is going to fucking care and you don't have a leash around your neck." Jungkook was taken aback for a second because Hoseok, that bastard, for the first time in his life, was right. Nothing was holding him back here anymore. He knew that before he did give excuses about being trafficked, kidnapped and a whole lot of other shit. And it as true. But there was also another reason. A reason he was ashamed of and wished it had never happened.
