As the darkness of the night faded away with the sun finding its way from the horizon to the summit of the sky, their arose hopes in the hearts which were lost in the unprecedented murk. The sunrays reached the earth's surface marking a new beginning as the warmth touched the coldness of melancholy, cheering up the saddened spirits as if giving them a chance to enjoy their youthfulness.
The day started off well with Mallika waking up early, all ready like a well behaved child to attend her Mr. Noodles class. Her eyes were a bit drowsy due to lack of sleep as she had spent whole of the last night in planning of the proposal with her sister. That was a daunting task as she didn't want this to be something simple or common or in other words, she didn't want to propose him in a usual way like every lover does. It had to be special, something which had to be more special than the word 'special' itself. Even though she only had a very faint knowledge about these things, she obviously knew that proposing him early in the morning wasn't a good idea after all. So she needs to wait though she is not at all familiar with the word 'patience', she gave up all these just for him.
The thought of making him happy and not getting scolded by him for atleast a single day came in her mind and so she put together all her efforts to become a well behaved child on this special day.
"Good morning!", she wished him as he entered her room with a handful of books and his school bag hanging from his shoulders.
"Morning! I can't say if it will be a good one or a bad one.", he replied to her while settling beside her on the bed.
"Did you do the homework?", he asked pretty sure that the answer would be a NO.
"Yup! I did it. See", she replied enthusiastically as she had completed his homework for the very first time after ages. She showed him her notebook, while he scanned the writings on the pages with unbelievable eyes.
"Unbelievable! You completed it? Seriously you did it? Am I dreaming? Breaking news: Miss Mallika Singh has completed her homework for the first time after a time period of I guess, years!", he mimicked the TV reporters while pretending to hold an invisible mike in his hand.
Mallika feigned annoyance and pouted.
"Can't I complete my homework? Why are you overreacting?", she asked though she was enjoying this.
"Oh sorry! Don't take it seriously. I was just joking. But I think this event should get recorded in the history books with golden letters. I am really impressed today!", he exclaimed as he playfully pulled her soft, pinkish cheeks and she once again pouted cutely.
"She looks so cute with that pout. Is there anything cuter than this?", Sumedh thought as he stared at his cute little bunny.
"So Mikku! Now jokes apart. Let's continue with today's lessons.", he said pleasingly.
Mallika's POV
"So Mikku! Now jokes apart. Let's continue with today's lessons", he told me with satisfaction clear on his face.
