The body was strung up on a wooden pole, it's arms splayed out as if as an offering... Well it was, to the crows it was an offering.

'Forensics checked it out, it's a Caucasian male around mid fifties'.

'Wonder what this poor guy went through before he died'.

Storm examined the area around them, and he could see the new theme park, the cop cars and people.

'Who found the body?'

Baloc motioned over to the young couple who were sitting near one of the cop cars, both of them looked rather shaken, no shit.

'I've spoken to them, they were just a young couple trying to go at it when they came across the body'.

'Must have killed the mood'.

He saw a flicker of a smile appear on Baloc's mouth, but it was gone as quickly as it came, 'we're doing a full sweep over the premises, and so far nothing, but -', he held up a plastic bag with a necklace, 'this was found at the victims feet, don't know if it belongs to the victim itself or the person who placed them here, most likely the killer'.

Storm took the bag from his hand and examined it carefully, 'silver chain... A diamond and a little plate that has the letter A on there and... Is that a -'.

'Scarecrow? Yes it is'.

What an odd necklace.

'We're going to send it through and we'll see if there's any DNA on there or even hair follicles'.

'Hopefully we can find something on that... Maybe it belongs to the victim and we'll be able to identify it a lot quicker than the usual procedure?'

Baloc shrugged, 'let's not get our hopes up too high', they watched as the body was carefully transported into one of the vans. It was to be sent straight to the lab.
Storm sat silently through the drive, his mind was running elsewhere.

'You look a little sick'.

His mind was running away too far, he had forgotten that he was in the car with Baloc driving, 'yeah, I don't know, just haven't been sleeping well'.

'Early night tonight?'

'Probably'.

He pulled out the case file and examined the remains, seeing the blood and guts that had been attacked by the friendly crows.

Who was this person - no the person was a man, who was this man? What had he done to deserve this? Was the victim in a way, responsible for anything or was he completely opposite? Did he deserve this?

Looking out the window, the landscape was dark, the sky was cloudy and grey, a mixture of despair. It had always been like that for quite some time. He flinched a little and his hand covered the side of his tummy... The scar...
His mind went back to when he was shot, the blood, the bullet.

'Hey'.

Storm looked over to see Baloc's eyes flickering over to him, 'it's hurting again?'

'It's alright, just a little pinch'.

'You should get it checked out again, you shouldn't have to deal with that'.

'Eventually, but right now, we need to sort out this case, and once its solved, I'll go and get this checked out, how does that sounds?'

Baloc chuckled, 'alright, you do whatever, but if it gets worse, you'll have to go get it checked and I'll force you'.

'So you'res saying I basically have no say in this'.

Storm laughed.
