Another phone call from Rachel and Storm was tempted to let the phone ring out, but she hadn't done anything wrong, well, she kinda has, by contacting him, and right now wasn't the right time.
He sighed and answered, 'Rachel, why're you calling?' He heard her chuckle, 'the usual answer from you Storm'.'Sorry, I've just been a bit tired'.
'I heard over the news about the girl, Patricia Malloy, it's horrible, I hope the case is going okay'.
'It's going steady, that's all I can say right now'.
Rachel sighed, 'look, I really am sorry for what I did back in high school, it was very wrong of me to -', Storm stopped her, 'Rachel, it's in the past, you don't need to keep apologizing, I'm over it', he pinched the bridge of his nose, there must be something else she wanted from him.
'I've missed you Storm'.
her voice echoed through his head, and he pushed it out, 'I'm sorry, but I can't say the same for you'. he felt bad, but it was true, he didn't miss her, because he didn't love her anymore. He could hear the intake of breath and he knew that she was upset.
'Rachel, you know this isn't a good idea, you're married now, and I'm sorry for your loss at the moment, but you need to be there for your husband'.
'I guess'.
'You two are falling apart'.
It wasn't really a question, but Storm knew, they have suffered too much and sometimes couples cannot get through it as well as others, 'you need to be with him, otherwise things will get worse, especially if he finds out that you've been talking to me', he hated being like this.
'Goodbye Rachel'.
'Goodbye Storm'.
After that phone call, Storm had a good sleep, he wasn't so sure why, maybe because he shut her out. Rachel was long gone, and he was happy.
Baloc had been updated from the other team who were working on the Moore case, 'nothing else, she was killed just like James Holly, so same killer'.
'That's pretty much it, the second team was a waste of time'.
Baloc shook his head, 'I'm afraid that there will be more that will show up', and Storm could really tell that he was worried, 'we should be fine, we've got another team with us, we can even give them the necklace, you know, get them working again, it's doing our heads in', that seemed to put Baloc at ease, 'sounds like a good idea, my head is pounding'.
They found Rushforth examining the bones of Malloy, 'we're going to pass the necklace over to the second team, they've got nothing to do now that they've sorted out Moore's case'.'Sounds like a plan, it's been doing my head in'.
Storm bagged the necklace and examined it for a few more moments before handing it over to Baloc to take to the team, they knew him better than they knew Storm and Baloc knew how to control them.
