Lost in time - suga

'Snow? It hasent snowed in a while...'

You sat in a desolate park as the sun set, watching the falling snow. No one could be seen as far as the eye could see

'When was the last time I talked to someone... it's been a while hasn't it?'

It was sort of hard to remember the last time you'd had a conversation... a real one at least

'Iv talked to the woman at the coffee shop... I don't think you can count that as a conversation though...'

You stared into the snow, almost in a trance.

'I can't remember my last friend...  I also can't remember the last time I saw snow... i guess it's easy for things to be lost in time.'

You had been coming to this park for years, when you were a kid it was lively and fun, people everywhere, there were always new friends to be made. All you had to do back then was walk up to another kid and ask to be friends.

'Things were so easy back then... but everything changes, over time.'

Memories of your past ran through your mind, memory's of that park, and the people you met there... one person in particular came to mind...

'The last time it snowed... I remember it... it was the last time I saw him.'

[flashback//high school]

It was your third year of high school, and graduation was soon. you walked around the park in the snow, looking around at all of the people. It seemed like a scene from a movie, snow gently falling to the ground, people around you enjoying the day, a scene you thought you could never forget...

'I probably should have dressed for the snow... I'm freezing.'

"Y/n, hey!"

You turned to see sugawara koushi, the two of you had been friends for years now. You met koushi when you were kids, in the same park...

"Hey koushi!"

"You know... if you're gonna walk in the snow you should at least put a jacket on."

Before you could say anything else, Suga took off his jacket and wrapped it around you.

"Wait, now you'll be cold."

"I'll be fine! Don't worry"

he smiled, the kind of smile that made your heart melt in an instant. You could feel your face heat up as you looked at him.

"Koushi... what do you want to do after high school?"

He stopped to think for a moment, before speaking. "I think I'll become a teacher!"

You smiled 'of course he's already decided'

"That does seem pretty perfect for you, you'll make a great teacher kou."

"I hope I do! What about you? Have you decided yet?"

"I'm not sure... I want to make a difference though!"

[flashback end]

'Make a difference, right... it's been a few years and not much had changed. I have a job, but it's nothing that'll help anyone...'

That day was the last time you had seen koushi. after graduating, you continued a search for a career, at some point you had given up, you found a job with decent pay and forgot all about your dream to make a difference.

'I wonder what happened to koushi... I was in love with him for years, but after high school I didn't want to see him again until I had made a difference like I promised... eventually I was just too scared to contact him, I didn't want him to see me as a failure.'

A voice came from behind you. "Y/n... is that you?"

You knew the voice as soon as it hit your ears...

You turned around to see him...
"Koushi?"

His eyes lit up and he pulled you into a hug. Pulling away, he spoke again.

"I missed you... why didn't you call?"

"I missed you too kou. It's kind of a long story... I'm sorry."

Koushi looked at his wrist.  "I have time for a story."

"You aren't even wearing a watch..."

"It was for effect!"

"You really haven't changed..."

Walking around with koushi for a while, you explained everything...

"You were so worried I would think of you as a failure that you didn't want to contact me until you made a difference?"

"Y-yeah..."

"Well... do you still want to make a difference?"

"I'd love to... I just don't think I have the option anymore... it's too late."

"Negativity begone! It's never too late! All that matters is that you still want to make a difference."

You couldn't help but laugh as he said this.

"W-whats so funny?"

"Nothing... it's just... I spent years wanting to make a difference, but I gave up once I thought it was too late... yet you manage to give me hope with one sentence. Thank you kou."

Koshi looked at you, a light blush across his face.

"Kou are you ok? Your face is red..."

"Y-yeah I'm fine... it's just... I want to ask you something."

"What is it?"

"I-I was in love with you... like... the whole time we knew eachother. And seeing you again now just made all of those feelings flood back. S-so I guess I'm asking... if you'd like to go on a date?"

Your face turned a deep scarlet as he spoke.

"Y-yes I'd love that!"

Koushis heart melting smile came back, as he pulled you into another hug.

'My last conversation... the last time I had seen the snow... and the last time I felt hope for my future. These were all things I lost in time... I forgot the things I loved, the person I loved... but I promise... this time I'm not going to forget.'

[authors note: woaaah first one shot is done! Most of my story ideas work better as longer story's, but I finally had a one shot idea that I liked!]
