Die for me- tanaka PT.2

[authors note: here's part 2 of my Tanaka one shot! This will be MUCH longer than my normal chapters since there's a lot to write! Prepare to be sad, Please enjoy :) ~OwlBee]

You and the rest of the team sat down in the  gym to talk, and daichi started to tell you about how they'd survived the past few weeks.

[the following is everything daichi tells you]

We had all met in the gym before the game, Tanaka was of course excitedly waiting by the door for you, the other third years and I were all talking, and the first years excluding yachi, were arguing as always... it was fairly normal.

Then we started hearing screams coming from the distance... people were yelling for help, saying that there were monsters... zombies.
We were all a bit confused until yachi arrived to the game a bit late... she ran into the gym and immediately told us to close and lock all of the entrances... she said she would tell us everything once it was safe.

After all the doors were secured yachi explained everything... someone had caught that strange disease that had been going around, apparently on the way to school the student had been attacked by a bloodthirsty man on the bus. She made it out alive but he scratched her...

The infected take about an hour from being scratched or bitten for the disease to take effect. But when it does they go completely mindless, the only thing they want to do is kill.

The girl had gone insane, attacking her classmates who were only trying to help... she had been isolated but it was too late, students had already been infected. It didn't take much time for it to spread. And that's about when yachi ran in, luckily she had escaped the classroom without being attacked and made her way here.

For the first couple days we were locked up in here but we needed food, since then we've sent a few people out every day to bring back any food or water they can find. That's actually why the gym was empty when you arrived, some of us were finding food and the rest were checking around the school for safe areas.

"Holy shit... that sounds terrifying, I'm so sorry."

Daichi looked sad, but smiled nonetheless.
"It's alright... hopefully things are going to get better."

Suga, hoping to learn more about how you got here, Decided to ask.

"You live pretty far don't you y/n? How'd you manage to get all the way here without dying?"

"Oh, I guess I should start from the beginning Huh?"

[the following is your story, from your pov]

I was getting ready to come see the game, but when I opened the front door... I saw that my neighborhood had turned to complete chaos. There were people running down the street being chased by the infected... things scattered across the street, blood everywhere...

I didn't know what to do... so I closed the door and hid. My parents went out of town so I was completely alone in the house... I was fine for the first week but things kept getting worse. First the power was shut down, then I started running out of food, then the water was shut off...

By then I had no reason to stay, I put some clothes and pictures into a bag, locked the house and left. Then I went around to scavenge, I would find safe rooms to sleep in at night and during the day I searched for anything that would be useful.
