Nandini is 17 and she works as a drug runner in the Moon city, which basically means supplying the drugs to the multiple dealers that she got assigned for that day. Yes, it is very much illegal here, but this is what she does for a living.
Throughout the day, she goes around the city riding her bicycle with a bag full of envelopes which she got from their gang, each envelope has the dealer's names written on them already. Nandini passes those envelopes to those dealers respectively and her job is finished for the day. That's it.
Nandini doesn't want to think about those envelopes or what they contain or what will those dealers do with them. She really doesn't care about the good and bad things as for her this logic works differently.
When she was 14, Nandini ran away from her hometown as she couldn't take any more tortures from her alcoholic mother. That woman was crazy as hell and all she used to do is get drunk with all the money she earned from working in a bar, then she would come home and used to beat Nandini while cursing at her how the world is so unfair.
After letting her frustration on Nandini, her mother used to pass out while Nandini used to spend the rest of the night nursing her wounds.
She got used to it.
Usually, it was bearable, but somedays when her mother is in bad mood, she used to use whatever object that is close to her to beat her daughter and Nandini used to end up with bloodied bruised and cracks. Nandini doesn't know who her father is, he was never in the picture from the start and whenever she mentioned anything about her father, her mother used to beat her more on those days.
It's just only both of them, but the whole town knows what happens in their little house, yet no one dared to involve.
One night, when her drunk mother swung a beer bottle into Nandini's face, it missed by a mere inch. That's when she realized if she continues to live with this woman, one day, she may die in her hands.
With the money, she barely saved secretly from her mother, Nandini left her lunatic mother and her hometown.
When she came to Moon City, the capital and far away from her hometown. As she had no money and there is no one to help her, she slept on the benches in the railway stations shivering due to the cold climate.
Maybe this is why moralities work differently for her. When she used to get abused by her drunk mother, no one in the town tried to help or stop. When she got bullied by other kids, no one tried to take her side. And when she slept on the public benches shivering with an empty stomach, not even a single person spared a glance at her.
No one cared about her.
But Mukti did.
Mukti was just a stranger who saw Nandini trying to sleep fighting the climate and hunger, then Mukti offered her a free meal instead of ignoring like others, Nandini almost got tears when she finally got some food into her system. It might be just a pity, but she was more than glad.
Mukti asked her nothing in return but just to tag along if she wants and Nandini didn't think twice before following after a 20-year-old stranger named Mukti.
However, in society's eyes, of course, to anyone, Mukti looked like a bad person whom you will think of again before messing with her. That's just how she carries herself, dressed in black leather pants and a punky tee shirt with a leather jacket thrown top of it. Her neck and arms full of tattoos, mainly her red hair that makes her stand out, and the look in her eyes, she looks dangerous and if you see her in any combat, she really is dangerous.
