He saw her, her face was covered by a purple outline showing him she was talking to Hawkmoth. He ran to her but he was too late. The darkness took her away leaving a masked girl with two blue pigtails tied by purple ribbons and a suit that was purple with black polka-dots evenly spaced out around her suit. Her face had a mask of the same pattern which made her hard to recognize.

Chat Noir knew he had to leave to discuss the situation with Ladybug but little did he know that this fight would be his alone.

After he had been waiting ten minutes for his partner he decided he should start confronting Marinette without Ladybug. Reluctantly he jumped towards his opponent knowing fully well he did not want to fight this girl.

"Hello Chat Noir, I am Dark Coccinelle and on Hawkmoth's orders I request your Miraculous." Chat looked at her. He wondered why she chose that name. "Come on, don't you want to fight me?"

Chat looked incredulous, "Of course not! I don't want to fight you! Plus I'm still waiting to hear from Ladybug about what the plan is."

"Your partner, huh? Well, don't think she'll come because she is quite... um... busy." She smiled wickedly.

"What did you do to her?!" Chat shouted at her.

"Nothing Kittycat. She's right in front of you!" First Chat looked at her almost questioningly then he realised what she had said and stared, "Ladybug?"

She smiled at him but still with an evil, wicked side to it. "I don't want to fight you either, Kitty. Let me just deal with my friends first." She jumped away, swinging on her yoyo. Chat knew he had to stop her but he was still going over what he just discovered.

Marinette is Ladybug, Ladybug is Marinette he chanted in his head. Now things made much more sense. Marinette's stress also came from being the Miraculous box holder and Ladybug's stress also came from not having anyone she felt she could confide in, except for Chat. It's my fault then... I should have stayed with her! I should have been quicker when I was following her! I should have immediately told her that I don't like Kagami in that way. I should have told her that I... I love her. Suddenly, Chat realised that he had to act. There's no point just standing here blaming myself, he thought, I can fix this.

As he carried on jumping another thought came to him. Ladybug won't come help me, I have to win this battle alone. He would go there and not fight, but make peace.

Oh revenge feels so good, Dark Coccinelle thought. She now had quite a lot of followers which is what she got if she hit someone with her yoyo. For some, like Nino, she would first talk to them and ask them things like, "Do you like Marinette?" "Do you like Lila?" Until she has enough of the things they say and tells them. "I used to be Marinette so for her justice I will make you part of my Army of Justice." Some sought to lie but 'Dark Coccinelle' could tell who was truthful and who was not.

Walking trough the city with her army felt wonderful. She felt so powerful and strong, like nothing could stop her. When she walked by people would scream and run away but none of Dark Coccinelle's targets got very far before getting hit by her yoyo and getting transformed into one of her soulless followers in black, mindlessly following her and obeying her every order.

"Get this person, I have to question her." Dark Coccinelle's followers would immediately do as they were told and she would say, "Thank you!" in mock politeness. This is so much fun! Was all she could think about. For once people are actually in their proper place and justice is being served.

Chat started thinking of what to do when he confronted Marinette again. The earrings must be the object the akuma is in. She wouldn't have had the other accessories when detransfromed. It felt weird to think about things that way but he knew it was the easiest.

As Dark Coccinelle was walking through the now deserted school yard Chat decided to jump down in front of her.

"Hello Kitty, you came back?" She seemed surprised to see him.

"Yes, I think we can talk this through." Chat was determined not to fight.

"I don't think so Kitty. I like this new place. Where everybody respects me. Where justice is served and everyone is in their right place." He had an absolutely crazy plan which he hoped would convince her to come back. He knew Ladybug's crazy plans always worked so why shouldn't his? Plus it was his only chance.

"Ok, look, I don't want to fight you and even less hurt you. I love you and I want you to know that." He felt safe saying as much but he knew for the thing he was about to do they he's to be alone. "Please, follow me." Surprisingly she followed without a word.

They stopped in the deserted school grounds. He looked up at her. "I love you, Marinette. I could never truly love Kagami because I... I still love you." And as he said it he realised he didn't only mean it because she was Ladybug but he truly loved Marinette. How brilliant she was with all her ideas, how her beautiful, blue hair swayed in ponytails behind her and the cute freckles that were strewn across her cheeks. I really do love her, He thought.

That was the last thing he told her before a blinding, green light engulfed him to reveal a familiar blond boy with emerald green eyes now standing where Chat Noir was.
