Marinette woke up with a yawn when she heard the alarm beeping.
"Just a few more minutes..." She mumbled tiredly.
"Marinette! It's your first day back to school! You don't want to be late do you?" Tikki was trying to convince her chosen to wake up.
This alerted the sleepy girl. She sat up and started getting ready for school.
"You're right Tikki," She let the Kwami into her purse and walked downstairs.
"How are you feeling honey?" Sabine asked her daughter gently.
"Much better," She smiled and gave a hug to both her parents. She grabbed a croissant and skipped out of the bakery.
She arrived at school to see Adrien's car pulling up in front of her. She smiled and walked over to him as he was getting out of the car.
"Hey Princess," He smiled at her and grabbed her hand. Marinette only slightly blushed.
They leisurely walked into the school doors. Marinette had only walked a couple steps when she was tackled into a hug by her best friend.
"Hey girl! I'm so glad to see you!" Marinette smiled at the affectionate acts of her bestie.
"Hi Alya! I'm glad to see you too."
Alya let her go and went to stand next to Nino. He looked at Marinette, "Hey Dudette. I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have gone against you, I hope you forgive me," He looked down in shame.
"Of course I forgive you! Plus it's not even your fault. Lila is a very convincing liar," She gave him a hug and smiled brightly at him.
"Well, we're heading to class," Alya grabbed Marinette aside, "And after, you better tell me why you and Sunshine are holding hands," Marinette blushed and Alya walked to class with Nino.
"Let's go to the lockers," Adrien grabbed Marinette's hand again and they walked over to the lockers.
Just as they walked in, Lila came strutting towards them.
"What are you doing with my Adrien?!" She screeched at Marinette.
She didn't answer and only gripped Adrien's hand harder. He gave her a soft, reassuring squeeze back and looked at Lila.
"I'm afraid that I am not your Adrien," He huffed at her annoyed, "But Marinette's."
Marinette's cheeks tinged pink but she was glad at what he had said all the same.
Lila looked outraged. She walked away her nose stuck up into the air.
Marinette looked up at Adrien and gave him a soft smile and a small peck on the lips as a thank you.
