Chapter 9 - Realisation

Chat had a hard time explaining everything. He explained from the very start of things. When Lila first came to school to the time when Marinette almost got expelled. Alya and Nino's eyes grew as Chat Noir continued.

He now had to explain what happened today.

"When Marinette got expelled today she had enough. Usually if she knew something isn't real, it wouldn't bother her too much. But also having other things on her mind she felt no hope or happiness inside her. She became akumatized."

"How do you know all this?" Alya was a reporter after all, she couldn't stop her questions.

"Adrien was nice enough to tell me all this," Chat had decided this was the best cover up.

"Hold up. Why isn't he here?" Chat tried to respond but Alya cut him off, "He also hurt her! She liked him and gave him so many things, like the blue scarf she knitted for him, and he never even thanked her! He said it was from his father! I wanted to tell him who it was actually from but Marinette wouldn't let me! She said his happiness was more important! And look at her now, akumatized! And that brat Lila! How could she just lie so much for no reason and hate Marinette! She made us all hate her! We're all so stupid!"

While Alya was ranting angrily, many thoughts were swirling trough Chat's head. She gave me that scarf? But Nathalie said it was from my father. She didn't even tell me because... because seeing me happy was even better. Alya is right, a lot of it is also my fault, I need to talk to her but not right now. She needs her rest.

He gently interrupted Alya, "You're... You're right, it's also his fault I'll talk to him, don't worry."

Alya still looked furious but Nino held his arm around her to make sure she didn't start getting ahead of herself and punch Chat Noir in the face.

Suddenly Alya made a realisation and confronted Chat, "Do you mean to tell me 'Dark Coccinelle' was Marinette?!" Chat nodded. "I heard it was probably the strongest akuma but it almost did nothing. Almost as if it chose not to."

Chat Noir gave a small smile, "Yeah, in the end she was able to fight the akuma's power. This is only possible if the akumatized victim has a reason that determines them so much they fight the akuma inside them with all their will and power." Alya and Nino stared at him almost unbelievingly, "She was amazing and is still recovering of how much that drained her."

Everything is quiet until Alya speaks up, "Nino, we need to go see her."

Before they could thank Chat and hurry out the door he stops them, "You need to be patient with her and I don't know if she wants any visitors right now. I advise you to ask her over a text message or a call if she is okay with you coming to visit her."
