The iron coffin

Starting major memory playback with: memory of certain day

[It didn't take long for the group to relocate themselves into the living quarters occupied by the cousins, Simon and Veronica. It also didn't take long for their only medics, save for Mephisto because reasons, to operate on Simon. They were sceptical about Veronica's story on giant spiders, but it did make Crownslayer's skin crawl. Gordon commented she has a...weird fear towards spiders. Of course, the spider venom is plausible, but Simon living through for four days is pretty remarkable.]

[They situate themselves in the living quarters as they wait for Sani and Cate to finish operating on Simon.]

Veronica: "Thanks for the assistance, fellas... Thought you were lying about having doctors."

Adler: "Technically I'm a paramedic, but you have no idea how many idiots I have to waste my time on because they couldn't read labels right, not to mention urinating on webs."

Cate: "The last one... I think it's a ploy to let you give them a free handjob."

Veronica: "Well, on the plus side, at least it shrank, laser guided karma for those desperate idiots."

Hosea: "Hey, Veronica? What's this about the dreadnought? You said it was from 'New Boston'."

Veronica: "Ah, yes. Before Simon could still walk, where the venom hadn't reached its way to his nervous system, I took the time to look around the ship. I went into the captain's cockpit, or...just the cockpit. It's the evacuation ship of New Boston. Pretty weird how the coils are failing recently, then again, if it's working for a century, it's bound to be malfunctioning at some point. I'm not sure what happened to New Boston, but something happened there that led to evacuation, that's what I can assume."

AJ: "Well... Jesus... How'd you get in here?"

Veronica: "There's more than one entrance in the dreadnought. Specifically, I bust ourselves inside. And fortunately, my one punch glove here is one good hacking tool."

*She waves her right hand for emphasis. It's like she has a cybernetic hand.*

Talulah: "Where'd you get that?"

Veronica: "From where we're from, we pack a lot of heat. We were sent out as scouts, or, maybe as a way to get rid of us. After Simon is healed up, we'll head back the way we came, don't worry, we've dodged so many catastrophes over the days, we're practically numbed. And not by the cold snaps. Now, where'd you guys come from?"

Hosea: "New Seattle, oh, and if you're planning to go south, or north, well, I advise against it. Coil is exploding, we're lucky to make it out alive."

Veronica: "That, I believe you, but what about her? I know dragons don't reside in anywhere else than in Yen."

Talulah: "Seems you've done your homework, Ms. Varys."

Veronica: "Indeed I have, Ms. Talulah. Well, welcome to Victoria. Place is more shittier and dangerous-ier than Bōlán. You're free to stay whenever, don't exactly have much company, and...accounts of Simon here."

*Simon purses his lips and nodded as he jolts from Sani's morphine injection.*

Adler: "Sorry, I'm not really good at injecting things."

Cate: "Um... I have a feeling we might need to cut this off. Place is too infected and dangerous to be left attached."

Veronica: "Ugh, I knew it was inevitable. Simon, you're okay with it?"
